Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
There’s no job like a single dad- just ask Nancy Ma’s night monkey. Just a week after giving birth, mothers of this species drive off their young, who then receive sole care from their fathers. These dads carry their babies from tree to tree, groom them, and teaches them all the skills they need to be successful monkeys. Because of this, the bond between father and child remains strong well into an adulthood.

Who Let The Monkeys Out?
Inktober 2019 Day 10
I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead. Maybe.
I do have some “Monkey Mind” problems during daylight hours, but I am much more concerned with a having brain full of hyperactive simians at 4 am.
Thankfully, this happens less often than it did in years past. (Could that be due to all of my attention to sleep? I don’t dare hope) I used to listen to boring podcasts in the middle of the night to block out my own obsessive internal monologue. I still occasionally snap awake in the small hours determined to compulsively worry about whether the liability insurance has been renewed on time, but it happens more rarely.
I decided to draw Colombian Night Monkeys since they are nocturnal. I was originally planning to draw sleeping monkeys - the accompanying sleep advice being to not wake up the monkey mind in the middle of the night.
But I’m afraid my mental monkeys are always hanging around waiting for me to wake up enough for them to go to work. And I’m not sure I have any specific technique to recommend to avoid this situation....except boring podcasts.

Panama Day 5: Canopy Tower. A Vist To The Gamboa Sloth Sanctuary And A Vist From Some Night Monkeys.
It was a great morning visit to Panama City on my last full day at the Canopy Tower ecolodge located in the Soberania National Park in a Panamanian rainforest. But the day wasn’t over and as was on all my days during my stay at the Canopy Tower another adventure was scheduled for the afternoon. We returned from our morning tour and, after sitting down and going over our bird and wildlife…
