As a teenager I hated to go sit in crowded areas or popular places. In ninth grade, there was this split between my school and an other school, and cool children would love to sit on the wall that split the 2 schools. I would never go near it since it was always crowded with the older students or the coolest school gangs. Then one day I made a friend. Nice girl I should say, but she had so much confidence. She forced me to go and sit on that wall with her. I didn't feel like I belonged there. I was fine with sitting in a corner, with the uncool kids. I didn't mind. I felt okay not being popular. Also, I was scared of the other school's kids. She also needed to absolutely talk with the older boys to flirt. And one day, I just couldn't bear it anymore. I was timid. I felt like I was her pet, following her around like that, not real smiles showing up my face when she tried to get a boy's attention, just saying yes whenever she asked me something... I was not where I belonged, and I missed my corner... And I had no strength to fight back and tell my friend I don't want to... I just timidly followed people around, all my life.
