Noah Wyle's passing out eye trick Full video
We had a short discussion re this, asked as an anon. But off the top of your head, do you know any more what I want to call Wyleisms? There's the embarrassed shuffle, the blushing, etc. I hope I have explained myself well enough.
I want to say shaking his head emphatically before saying "no" is one, but that maybe just be a Carter thing. 🤣 There must be more, I haven't seen a lot of his filmography. I've barely started "Falling Skies."
I want to preface this by saying that everything below is presented with the utmost affection and love.
Here are some additional Noah-isms/Wyle-isms:
1. He makes an adorable Kermit face. Trademarked by the County General ER discord.
2. He stims sometimes, like rocking back and forth and playing with his hands.
3. Passing out eye trick. I don't know if this counts since it's a conscious acting choice.
4. He gets emotional during interviews.
5. Blushing in recent years
6. Finger guns.
7. Reciting his ER monologue (from two different episodes)
Other Noah-isms include:
Oversharing (e.g. Tom Hale, virginity, Werther's attaboy, trauma-based hoarding, drunkenly falling in the shower, Meisner, every interview in the 90s)
Being self-critical and self-deprecating (e.g. ER newcomers, "shut up, no one cares what you have to say", “no real skills of value”, “I didn’t deserve it back then”, "Sunrise, Sunset", also every interview he did in the 90s)
Hating filming Falling Skies in Vancouver (e.g. the water was freezing, we almost drowned)
Advocating for human rights, labor rights, and most prominently healthcare reform
Setting a kind, professional, and welcoming tone on sets
Posting on Instagram like your aunt, mostly of strike.art
Talking about being a third-generation Angeleno, Gardner Elementary, Thacher School, and filming in LA
Talking about his wife, kids, and mom (a nurse!)

Did I forget anything? Please let me know in the replies.
As many of you know, Noah is an over-sharer and very self-deprecating. Some of the stuff he says about himself gets him criticism or embarrassment. He shares stuff that no one needs to share publicly, like about shitting his pants, crying on his couch, being depressed, not being welcoming enough to costars, getting sexually harassed, losing his virginity, getting drunk and falling in the shower, his weight, etc.
My friends and I like to joke that version of Noah is “Woah Nyle” and he hates Noah Wyle more than anyone else in the world. Noah’s publicist hates to see Woah coming.
This interview gives some insight to why he over shares.
From Clear+Vivid with Alan Alda:
Let's say you're sitting at a dinner table and you're next to someone you never met before. How do you begin a genuine conversation? I will confess that I'm not big on small talk, even at casual dinner parties. I tend to go deep quickly because I'm usually not shy about sharing things that most people would be very, very reticent to share. I tend to think of my life as a bit of an open book and that my experiences are fodder for conversation or for discussion. So, how would that begin a conversation? I would usually make some kind of self-deprecating comment about myself that revealed myself to be less than intelligent or less than sophisticated and see whether or not anybody wanted to play at, hey, let's pretend we're not all cool and we don't have it all figured out. So, you'd say something like, I have athlete's foot, how about you? Yeah, something humiliating that happened on the way to the restaurant, something that had to do with the clothes that I wanted to wear or the spill that I really wish wasn't on my shirt, something that just says, I am a human being, how about you?
Unfortunately, in this age of social media, many people don’t approach things with a sense of curiosity or generosity. They don’t look at others as human beings who make mistakes and are trying to learn and grow, but as targets they can pick apart and knock down a peg. So I do hope Noah becomes more careful and guarded in the future, and I also hope people hiding behind anonymity online will show a bit more empathy and understanding.
Noah got set on fire twice. 🔥
