Ok but I love Squid Game’s critique of the concept of formal equality. The Game Master keeps emphasising that they want the rules to be fair and everyone is treated equally in the game. And yet clearly that isn’t true. Some players have PTSD, some players aren’t as physically strong, some players are disabled, some players are elderly, some players aren’t welcomed into teams because of their gender. 

Kind of like how the ruling classes in the real world constantly assert that we all start at the same position, everyone is equal, and then consistently ignore that that simply isn’t the case.

Adam Lambert is one of my favorite artists and to hear him say he "wasn't allowed" to do the kind of art he wanted, despite of always being openly gay, breaks my heart.

I told him during our video call that he has helped me so much on my journey to be more comfortable with myself, and I just hope he knows he has inspired so many people by just being open, even if he couldn't always do the kind of art he would have wanted.
