If you weren’t already hype about Under the Whispering Door this pop sheet has to win you over
Hey lesbrarians! YA books are so good and I've read A TON (and I still will) but I'm looking for some novels about lesbians who are not in high school. I'm 27 and married, done the university thing and I'm just looking for some books about people my age. Any recommendations?
What sort of genre are you interested in? Generally lesbian romance is about women in the 20s, 30s and sometimes up. Some of my favourite non-YA lesbian books (in all other genres) are:
Nevada by Imogen Binnie (review)
Hero Worship by Rebekah Matthews (review)
Fingersmith and Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters
Ascension by Jacqueline Koyanagi (review)
The Second Mango by Shira Glassman (review)
The Gilda Stories by Jewelle Gomez (review)
Rescued Heart by Georgia Beers (review)
A Pirate’s Heart by Catherine Friend (review)
The Long Way Home by Rachel Spangler (review)
The One Hundred Nights of Hero by Isabel Greenberg (review)
Two or Three Things I Know for Sure by Dorothy Allison (review)
The Family Tooth by Ellis Avery (review)
Prairie Silence by Melanie Hoffert (review)
Before the Rain: A Memoir of Love & Revolution by Luisita Lopez Torregrosa (review)
Licking the Spoon: A Memoir of Food, Family and Identity by Candace Walsh (review)
Hope that helps! Let me know if you were looking for anything more specific.
So I’m currently reading a murder mystery...which I LOVE!! I was just wondering...what are your favourite non-YA genres? YA is great but as @magic-in-every-book said the other day, there is a lot of it about.
