What a magnificent position to hold or strive to reach.

It may seem as if few nonbinary people reach old age. Maybe our oppression gets many of us too soon, or our erasure makes it look as if it does. I don't know. But tortoises, even though many species are threatened, still manage to surprise us by their longevity. May we follow their example and surprise the world like the tortoise has despite the odds.
