guess who's making matching carabiners and watching lesbian movies with her next week
Theres something so strange about being happily single but occasionally lonely. Sometimes it’s FOMO (all my brothers have their girlfriends over and I’ve never had a partner) and sometimes it’s just wishing to be held or cherished or someone’s first thought for once- but it’s never genuine enough for me to ACTUALLY be willing to change my single lifestyle. Like, I love being single and unbeholden to anyone, and I love my own company and my friends and my life, but I’m a human who occasionally feels the longing for a romantic connection. HOWEVER, crucially, these bouts of slight loneliness are ammunition used by the entire world to try and convince me to find a partner when I don’t WANT a partner. Wishing I had an automatic date to a wedding or someone always on my side at a family gathering does not mean I am irrevocably lonely or in need of some sort of romantic ‘saviour’, and it’s disheartening that I can’t be single and talk about how difficult it is sometimes TO be single without it being taken as being UNHAPPY, when I am leagues happier now than I was when I was in the dating world.
I like how people think being childfree is some recent , feminist agenda and it was super nonexistent before , yet even in my brainwashed country where people still have the “women aren’t women unless they give birth” and “you need a family” mindset I can think of at least 10-15 different couples and people that were in my immediate vicinity and had no children and some never got married. And they’re all above 40-45 years old. They’re just not vocal about it , never mention it and me/my parents/friends never asked them about it because idk to me it feels rude to ask about relationship or children status unless the person volunteers this information (usually in Balkans people force it out of you or only talk about that) and they’re all random neighbors, coworkers, family members, family members of friends and just average joe people not some idk weirdo from a shed in the woods.
It’s just they aren’t annoying and vocal about their choices (or maybe it wasn’t a choice we don’t know)
she says "ok" and i say "okay" <33
So real.
