Marah, salah satu kata sifat yang diartikan sebagai perilaku sangat tidak senang akan sesuatu. Marah menjadi salah satu tanda emosi negatif. Sebagai salah satu emosi yang ada dalam sifat manusia, wajar saja jika seseorang menjadi marah akan sesuatu yang tidak disenanginya. Tapi, kapan sih seharusnya seseorang itu marah?
Marah boleh, asalkan harus tahu satu hal, penyebab dari kemarahan. Kalau marah nya tanpa alasan, itu yang harus dipertanyakan, "ada apa denganmu?"
Ada yang memandang baik kemarahan bila ditempatkan di tempat yang tepat. Dari salah satu pelatihan yang membahas tentang psikologi manusia, Aku dapat ilmu baru kapan kita harus marah dan diperbolehkan, yaitu saat hak kita dirampas. Marah di kondisi tersebut menunjukkan kita sedang memperjuangkan hak-hak yang ditindas atau diinjak oleh orang lain. Selain itu? Sebaiknya dikurangi lah, apalagi marah yang nggak jelas penyebabnya.
Rasulullah saw. bersabda, "Ingatlah sesungguhnya di antara manusia ada yang tidak mudah marah (dan kalau marah) cepat reda (amarahnya). Ada orang yang cepat marah serta cepat reda amarahnya. Ingatlah juga bahwa di antara manusia ada yang cepat marah serta tidak mudah reda amarahnya. Ingatlah, orang yang paling baik adalah orang yang tidak mudah marah serta cepat reda amarahnya. Sementara orang yang paling buruk adalah orang yang cepat marah dan tidak muda reda amarahnya" (HR. at-Tirmidzi)
