Metroid: Zero Mission
So, I drew this thumbnail back in october and I feel like I’ve gotten much better at drawing human anatomy since then but OH WELL! This was my first time drawing Zero Suit Samus, and it was a lot of fun! (It was also my first time drawing a space pirate!)
Is the Zero Suit to close to NSFW territory for this blog? Sorry about that. The bellybutton indent is a bit much for me. Sorry everyone!
You can watch our Metroid: Zero Mission playthrough on SkyJam starting here!
Pikmin 2
HOHO! If you know me, you know that Pikmin is my favorite game franchise!
Pikmin 2 happens to be my least favorite of the trilogy, (Not a fan of caves!) but that doesn’t mean I don’t still enjoy the heck out of it!
I depicted exploring a new world in my thumbnail for Pikmin 1, and the return to said world for Pikmin 3, both of which are tied closely to my personal experiences with those games! For Pikmin 2 I wanted to capture the maddeningly chaotic side of Pikmin with one of its fantastic boss battles!
I chose to Man-At-Legs as it scarred me for life as a kid, but others I considered were the Waterwraith, the Empress Bulblax and the Giant Breadbug!

Limbo
I can’t imagine Limbo needs an introduction, but if you HAVEN’T heard of it, check it out! It’s a pretty fantastic moody puzzle/platformer indie game from a few years back!
I tried to keep this thumbnail as true to the game as possible! No messing around here. Just a boy and his horrific early-game spider! It’s like ‘A Boy and His Blob’, but instead of a hug button, you die!
You can watch our Limbo Livestream on SkyJam right here!
(It was James’ first time playing it!)
Pokemon Stadium & Pokemon Stadium 2
Theeeeese games are still so much fun to play with friends! Since each Pokemon has four set moves attached to it in the stadium franchise, does that mean anyone’s figured out the best possible team of six in each game? I’m so curious to find out!
For the Stadium 1 thumbnail I went with Blastoise and Charizard much like the box art, but for Stadium 2 I mixed things up by drawing James’ favorite second gen (Ampharos) and MY favorite second gen that isn’t Wooper! (Hitmontop)
...Wooper would’ve been too small next to Ampharos. Besides, Hitmontop is hella fun to draw!

RPG Maker MV
So this... Really isn’t a game so much as a tool? Either way we’ve been livestreaming it monthly on SkyJam as we put together a very chaotic game through our chat’s suggestions!
I’ve been a big fan of RPG Maker in its various forms for over 10 years now, and I think MV really is the best one yet by a mile. I WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO MAKE GAMES! Ugh. One day I’ll finish what I’m working on... One day...
BUT ANYWAY- RPG Maker is awesome and for this thumbnail, I drew the icon that MV uses for the default game window! I don’t know if I’m explaining this well. If you have RPG Maker you can see for yourself!
(If you’re interested in seeing the very old games I’ve made with past RPG Makers, check my website, Hetrea.com!)
Punch-Out!! (Wii)
Oh HECK yes I love me some Punch-Out Wii! This is one of my top three Wii games easily, maybe even my number one. Take note, game companies that for some reason follow my blog, THIS is how you do a revival. Everything about PO(W) is so polished and fun and all around perfect.
For my Punch Out NES thumbnail I did a scene from in the ring, so for this one I knew I had to go with the iconic training cutscene!
Bring Punch Out it to the switch, baby! (Or at least have some form of ROBO MAC as a secret character in ARMS. I’d be so down with that.)
You can watch James DESTROY the competition in our playthrough of Punch-Out!! (Wii) here!
Final Fantasy XV
Recently James and I over on SkyJam started to each do one solo-stream a month, so we could stream more overall! I’ve been doing art streams, and James recently finished playing through Final Fantasy 15 on stream!
I don’t know a ton about FF15 (As I haven’t played it myself, nor was I able to watch most of his streams,) but the Final Fantasy franchise is one I have a ton of respect for, and would like to play a lot more of! I’m playing through FF5 on my own time currently! My favorite is FF8 because I used to watch my grandpa play it while I was growing up. He was, and still is, a huge Final Fantasy fan!
Here’s what I knew about FF15 going into this thumbnail: It was about 4 guys on a road trip. That’s all I needed to know, because that sounds like ‘Abbey Road’ parody O’clock in my book, y’all!
