I really feel like I saw someone somewhere suggest that Q rides a Brompton, and I do think that is ultimately the right answer. Classic, practical, definitely fits Q's specific aesthetic. (edit: miles pointed out that he litterally has one in nttd. I'm so glad the filmmakers agreed with me on this one 😅)

However I can also see him trying to build the most optimised commuter bike ever, based on a bunch on convoluted metrics that only matter to him. I really don't see him as a MAML commuter. I don't think having to lock up in whatever underground car part situation they've got going on, shower, and get changed on arrival would appeal to him. I'm thinking more of the vibe of the guy from the youtube channel shifter and his (all the love in the word) ridiculously over-engineered winter bike. With a carbon belt drive no normal bike shop can service, a combination of rucksack/ shoulder bag paniers, and probably a bunch of handlebar paraphernalia. He tried one of those variable gear systems (?idk if that's what they're called, shifter does have a video about these but I cannot easily locate it), but eventually went back to an internal hub system optimised for the specific speeds he needs on his commute.

Maybe he does have a bit of a lycra streak and he does have a top-of-the-range ultra optimised super light road bike for the extremely rare days he can actually take it out to the countryside somewhere (he is NOT riding that thing in london). Maybe he even has a full time trial bike with all the unnecessary features. like he's toyed with the oval chainrings all the professionals were swearing by in the mid 2010s.

Because he is, ultimately, a nerd, he loves the idea of tracking all his stats and trying to get personal bests and all that but strava is NOT opsec compliant. So he buys a bike computer and guts it so that it stores all the data locally and probably also encrypts and scrambles his routes and pace. he spends hours having Q fun fannying around with his own data.

He's trying to persuade Bond of the appeal of cycling and Bond's sceptical "isn't that for children and men who think they have something to prove?" (To which Q cannot resist digging back with "then what does that make all of your ridiculous cars then?") In order to make a point he lovingly refurbishes a vintage 1970s raleigh steel frame top tube shifter road bike (definitely as a present for Bond and not for him ; ) ) and he takes Bond out somewhere nice a weekend and Bond's reluctatly like "Okay maybe you're on to something here..."
