((Random question I know, but how would you write Damian's introduction to Bruce if you were in charge of Batman and Son?))
[[ Wow good question, actually. I'll admit I'm not terribly schooled in Batman and Son (because Morrison and early SkrullTalia) and I've never thought of it before so this might be crap.
But I would hope that Talia would have dropped that tidbit of information before having him meet Damian. I wouldn't have had Damian as a test tube baby (because it makes absolutely no sense as I've mentioned before - why go through the trouble of sexing up Bruce if you weren't trying to put a bun in the oven and were just going to put a bun in a jar?).
I think it would have been interesting for Talia to have still told this grandiose, rose-colored glasses stories about Bruce without intending for Damian to meet him because of Son of the Demon's events (and never wanting Bruce to know she lied about miscarrying and the reasons behind it, mainly to spare him and herself the pain of reliving it) - and then for Damian to get fed up with stories and strike out on his own to find his father.
Instead of "Mother's Manbats are holding you captive, I'm your son let's point a sword in your face and snarl a little bit", I think to have Damian mirror Bruce's youth as a sojourner would be interesting. Instead of Bruce's path where he goes off and trains and learns, Damian would be seeing real people and real problems and start to see, maybe, that there's more to the world than Talia and her dreams and love stories and lessons. Not necessarily for a long haul, but enough to leave Damian more bewildered than arrogant when he meets Batman. For there to be less bravado about it all.
Then Talia tracks Damian down and catches up to him and she and Bruce have to have the uncomfortable conversation.
Then for Talia to put her arm around Damian and look at Bruce and say "Beloved, this is our son." and then Bruce is of course shocked and angry and omg I have a son feelings.
And Damian is just confused because he wants to get to know his father but Talia wants him to return with her but her world isn't the same to him after he's seen what's outside of it.
In other words, I wish it was something more heartfelt on all accounts, not "MANBATS AND DEVIOUS PLANS EHEHEHEH BLOWS UP A SUBMARINE AND ALMOST KILLS US BOTH"
So then we have a Damian with Talia but pining after Bruce's life and his world even though he absolutely loves his mother and respects her.
I guess there needs to be action in there somewhere but eh it's late but does that makes sense? It would just be a shift in tone, you know? ]]
