iwaizumi hajime who believes the best stress therapy after dealing with volleyball idiots all day (athletic trainer problems) is to kiss you long and hard.

you’re his personal drug, pillow, and clarity all in one. everybody benefits in this arrangement, you especially.

he walks in through the door, dropping his bag and walking to the couch. he wastes no time at all, cupping your face and tilting it towards his own.

iwaizumi hajime is never tipsy. but when he is tipsy he’s a giggly man who smiles a little too much and doesn’t stop looking at you like you’re the eighth wonder of the world.

he’ll gesture for you to take a seat beside him while trying to pretend he’s sober (he’s not) and accidentally divulging how much he thinks of you.

his hand stays on your thigh, hot and steady as you drive home.

when he sees you share a bed, wedding rings, and marriage photos in your room, his tipsy brain thinks that he could die a happy man

oikawa tooru loves many things: volleyball, winning, milkbread, and of course, the feeling of you feeding him a homemade birthday cake on his birthday.

the frosting is smudged against his lips, the laughter bubbling out of him as you try (unsuccessfully) to put another piece in his mouth. it’s his favorite flavor and he tastes it on his tongue and nearly melts because it’s you.

everything tastes better if you made it.

“GET BACK HERE!” you giggle, practically chasing him around his apartment. he laughs, long legs propelling him as far as he wants and then back into your arms.

you look up at him, all tousled brown hair and warm brown eyes and kiss the frosting off his lips.

“happy birthday tooru.” you smile. he kisses your forehead, opening his mouth to speak—

only for you to shove a piece of cake inside.
