          BEING DUBBED THE QUEEN OF DEATH, maura rarely had time to date, let alone time for herself. but, when she was told that a friend in the medical office had set her up for a blind date with a friend because she needed to get out. she was slightly shocked. she, was going on a blind date just because she needed to get out? well, it was bound to happen after all. showering at the morgue, maura changed into her dress for the evening before quickly doing her hair and make up. okay, she was ready to go. as she drove to the restaurant, maura took a few deep breaths as she walked. she was taken to the table where her date was waiting but maura couldn’t help but stop as she noticed who was there “CASEY?”.

She stands in the doorway, staring down at Casey’s bruised, battered form, a muscle jumping in her jaw. There’s a brightness to her eyes that reveals a weakness she’s never shown outside her private life, but Casey has never fit simply into her professional life. 

The young woman stirs, and Liz sniffs sharply, rubbing quickly at her eyes as she takes seat on the bed. ‘I’ve made it clear that the detectives are not to rest until they’ve found who did this’. There’s an edge of sharp anger to her voice, but her fingers are gentle as she brushes Casey’s hair away from her forehead. ‘Either that or I’ll find him myself’.

"This is-- incredible." Breath of reverence at the dark window, looking down at countless lights and the movement of countless people below. Even the wildest ideas of before didn't compare to the shadow of this, as if it ticked onwards in all directions endlessly. Maybe it did. Maybe that was why he was here-- to keep it from being wiped away by an insane computer program.

To be UNWRITTEN, ultimately, for the infinity of life to unfold instead. No bombs, no Ark, no Praimfaya. To unwrite them all, for the greater good.

He couldn't imagine what the scene below would become when the sun rose.

"I'm sorry about the damage." Again he apologised, for the second time since his unceremonious arrival half an hour earlier, hand bleeding black still through the bandage. "How many people live in this city?" Sidetracked question. Thousands, at least. More, probably.

         USING THE BACK OF HER FOREARM, maura ran it over her head with a soft sigh before returning it back to the body on the table. it was late, she hadn’t had dinner yet and she was meant to be going to her girlfriends apartment. girlfriend. still a word that felt so odd but so right to say. but yes, she was meant to be going to casey’s apartment but this autopsy needed to be done yesterday ( not really really yesterday just as soon as possible in the sense ) and so that’s where she found herself. working over this body so late at night. When it was done, she was just going to go to bed, probably wouldn’t even eat she WAS THAT TIRED.

Even though she can’t see Casey’s face, she can picture it clearly. Her chin tilted up in, eyes defiant, hiding how frightened she is behind bravado that Liz knows is an illusion. She can feel her trembling, their backs pressed together, the handcuffs a cold reminder of the reality of the situation. She’s stayed quiet, an example she followed after Liz said something snappy, and got smacked with the but of a gun for her troubles. She knew better, of course, but she’d hated seeing Casey pushed around. 

Her cheek throbs, and she’s glad Casey can’t see the swelling she knows is there. She glances towards the door, their captors having left them alone for a few minutes now, and twists her hand around to clasp Casey’s fingers tightly.

character in general: i'd take several fuckin bullets for casey to be honest and that show did her dirty and everytime someone talks shit about her i lose ten years off my goddamn LIFE bc like fuck at least she's tryin, give the girl some CREDIT

overall opinion: 11/10 would recommend, if u don't love casey or u take a look and don't agree it's an A+ portrayal block me and get better taste bye lmao
