This untitled illustration by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Evening Star on November 8, 1908, depicts the feeling of many that William Howard Taft would bring prosperity to the country.

It shows President Taft walking hand-in-hand with a female figure labeled “Prosperity” who holds a cornucopia.  The teddy bear is introducing them to Uncle Sam, saying “Oh, see who’s here!”  Uncle Sam is taking off his hat and bowing to the couple.  A factory with many smokestacks is in the background.
