It's ending time boys
Y'know NNN?
Well, that doesn't exactly apply to me, but I'm trying something similar
So I have an abysmal sleep schedule. So I'm trying to fix it with this. This being what I call Novender.
For the entire month of November, I am going to have a normal (close to normal) sleep schedule. And i invite anyone else willing to give up a bad habit of some sort to join me. There are only two rules:
1. You must complete the entire 30 days of November without doing the thing you're trying to quit
2. You have to do at least one physical/tangible thing to try and reach the 30 days. For example, I have a burner phone that I use to avoid sleeping. So I've drained the battery of said burner, and my tangible thing is to not charge it at all. Therefore rendering it useless for a while (Try to make your tangible thing something that keeps you out of the situation where you would do the bad habit. For example, if you're trying not to drink, you could throw out any alcohol in your house, and your thing could be that you won't all ow yourself to go to any places that sell alcohol. At that point, it would be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to get alcohol, which would at least help somewhat).
This definitely won't be exactly like how New Year's Resolutions work where everyone quits after 6 days right? (copium)
Ender's Day #novEnder @asabopp @nanaventiany ❤️
Except that he had thought it was a game. Thought it was a game, but at the same time knowing that the game was a simulation of reality. In the game he had chosen to do the unspeakable; it meant, to Ender at least, that he was not free of guilt when the game turned out to be real. Even though the Hive Queen forgave him and put herself, cocooned as she was, into his care, he could not shake himself free of that. He was only a child, doing what adults led him to do; but somewhere in his heart he knew that even a child is a real person, that a child's acts are real acts, and that even a child's play is not without moral context.
Orson Scott Card, Children of the Mind. Say what you will about Card creating a 'blameless' character and promoting a philosophy which purports that 'the only thing that matters about a person's actions is their intentions'... I think he makes it pretty freakin' clear that Ender *isn't* guiltless, and that an action is an action, no matter the intention.
"You can use a side handhold if you want," Ender said. “Go suck on it,” said the boy.

Just saw ENDER'S GAME and it was AMAZING
"Jane closed her eyes, smiled, and then all four of them were gone. Only the mothertrees remained in the middle of the clearing, bathed in light, heavy with fruit, festooned with blossoms, a perpetual celebrated of the ancient mystery of life."
