MAC Pro Longwear Concealer Review
Yesterday, I went to Nordstrom stopped by the MAC and Bobbi Brown counters to get matched, and try out the concealers that I was planning to buy.
So, it turns out that I didn't get the MAC Studio Finish Concealer, it was too cakey for my taste. And unfortunately, the Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstrom was out of my shade, Honey. Of course, Tina--the manager (?) of the Bobbi Brown counter--gave me the option of buying the Creamy Concealer Kit (only difference is that it comes with a setting powder, and it's $10 more.) But, it was out of my budget, and I didn't want it with the powder, haha. In the end, I got the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW25. Its texture isn't as thick and creamy as both Bobbi Brown's creamy concealer and Studio Finish, the texture reminded me of a foundation; but not as runny.
The coverage is medium, but it's definitely buildable. I used a concealer brush to apply it to my dark circles, redness around my nose, and my sun spots; then blended it out by patting it with my finger. Do not rub the product when you are applying it to your under eye area! It will tug on the delicate skin around your eye.
So, after concealing and sealing everything with powder...I looked pretty damn awake. Just to make sure my artificial lighting wasn't playing tricks on me, I walked out of my bathroom to look at my face in natural lighting. This concealer does a damn good job, and I still looked awake in harsh and unflattering fluorescent lighting in the office. (I shall post pictures later!)
As for the cons of this concealer....I really, really, REALLY don't like the pump used to dispense the product. It's either get a lot of excess product you're not going to use, or no product at all. There are no middle grounds to get the just right amount of product. And seeing how concealer is a staple in my makeup collection, I really don't want to waste it. And lastly, if you're in a rush, this concealer is not for you! In order to get the coverage that it promises, along with myself and other users...you have to let it dry after blending it, and THEN set it with powder.
