I stayed up all night chatting with my millennial cousin about generational trauma and I was shocked to learn that she and her husband would be more than okay with their kids turning out queer since “having a good partner you can spend your life with is paramount, even according to Islam” and for the first time in my twenty-five years I had a “what if it all works out and everything is fine actually” epiphany so I just want to wish a happy new Gregorian year to all fellow queer Muslims on my dash. <3
