Was Ronnie more affectionate with Emma-may when they were together? Or has he always been a little bit more reticent?
Ronnie loved his Maebird, the way you would love someone with whom you shared a lot of history with. He didn't have to hide who he was around her, was the reason he discovered his affinity for building machines, was there when he first fell in love, all the late phone calls and letters detailing the pining and yearning in his college years, was especially there for the fallout, trying to make something new with the broken pieces.
It wasn't a fairytale happiness but it was happiness all the same
