thoughts on ch. 344

even though i read it yesterday . i still can’t get over the new gintama chapter .

like, to be betrayed ? literally feels like a fate worse than death . and you know what makes it even worse ? gintoki was betrayed by someone he not only trusted, and loved, but looked up to and respected severely . on top of that, he was someone that took him in when he was abandoned by the world .

and it killed me when gintoki first saw him and kept fighting until he was able to slice of the mask . because when he first saw him he instantly recognised him, which is why he hesitated to attack him when he first saw him . AND THEN, even though it seemed as though he knew who was under that mask, he kept swinging his sword until he could get a clear view of his face, as though he couldn’t accept it until he had full concrete evidence that Utsuro was ‘that person’ .

and honestly, that awful mix of emotions is a very rare but terrible concoction to give to any human being .

BUT THEN, to make it worse, Gintoki has to swing his sword for permanent results, at his master, again, for the second time . like once wasn’t enough .

and i know there’s another side to the story . after all he swung at the person who took him in, and all the choices taken in gintama has been so grey that black and white doesn’t seem to exist in the gintama universe at this point . but i can’t help but feel bad for gintoki because the emotions he’s feeling (though technically, he’s not a real human being LOL) must be so freaking bad ????

however, i know the whole story hasn’t been told yet . whether oburo just stuck sensei’s head and body back together, is probably manipulating him in order to get what he wants (but secretly sensei is secretly protecting gintoki from something worse, la-di-da), or at the best case scenario, isn’t actually him; it does not change the fact that i feel so, so, incredibly sad for gintoki AND MAH HEART JUST HURTSSSSS .
