so I just gave myself OC brainworms on a parahumans shitpost so now I'm making a full OC

her name is Flashback (she wanted VHS but the PR person for her Wards team said no), and she's a member of the Calgary wards (she was from New York, but she got rotated there when her parents moved for a job opportunity). She's 15, and had her trigger event at 12, but she didn't tell anyone she triggered until she was 14. yes that does mean she spent almost 2 years dealing with her powers on her own.

Her trigger event was an internal one where she had so much pressure on her to live up to her 'potential' that she ended up breaking. that original trigger only granted her the ability to cause people to view her 45-70 seconds in the future at the expense of them perceiving where she currently was. in addition, she got minor thinker powers that allowed her to calculate her own momentum (expressed in the understanding of where people see her future projection, she's not fully aware of many of the things behind it)

A few months and one (1) major depressive episode she had a second trigger that modified her ability to allow her to toggle between having people only able to view her 45-70 seconds in the future or only able to view her 45-70 seconds in the past, based on her own personal frustrations and desire to return to the person she once was.

Important note: while Flashback can set and forget what mode she's toggled to, unless she's actively suppressing it, her power is always on. Because thats how shards fuckin work baybee they constantly retraumitize you.

Also her civilian name is Alex Grey. while living a civilian life, Alex uses he/him, and uses she/her only while suited up (since she wears a quarter-face mask, she says that presenting as the opposite gender while in costume is a good tactic to hide her identity- after all people don't expect the tomboy-but-feminine hero to actually be a boy in civilian clothing. its actually because she's a trans woman but she's not ready to admit that to herself, much less anyone else). Flashback mainly identifies with her hero identity rather than her civilian identity (gee I fucking wonder why).

this is Alex in civilian clothing. its totally a style and not a dysphoria hoodie and thats totally a mullet and not a desperate attempt to have somewhat socially acceptable long hair as someone who presents masculine.
