Soccercop + OCD Alison + Nail biting

“When I was a child, I would bite my nails,” Alison says;                               Says Alison, “I would bite my nails when I was a child,”and Beth wonders how that explains theBLOODon the tips of Alison’s fingers, d                                                  r                                                    i                                                      p                                                        p                                                          i                                                           n                                                             g into the sink, leaving streaks of bright red along the basin, attracting Beth’s attention.

Beth snatches up the nail clippers, can just make out the flecks of [skin] stuck to the blades (blades that look like T \/ E \/ E \/ T \/ H or a jaw or a monster of some other sort), stashes them                                          away.

“Clipping is always better,” Alison mutters (twice) as Beth sits her down and begins to wash, rinse, sanitize, bandage, e r a s e .

Beth taps her fingers                                         absentlyon the tabletop, but  s t o p s  when she see’s Alison’s eyes, flickingback                                      &                                                                 forthbetween Beth’s fingers [1,2... 1,2,3,4... 1... 1,2... 1,2,3...] and Beth’s face.

“Sorry,” Beth mutters, and then again (”I’m sorry”) because Alison needs to hear it Twice||eciwT - but has to start again because         -Sorry          and         -I’m sorryare not the same.

Beth takes Alison’s hands in hers and lets her index finger tap against Alison’s skin in duplets (1,2... 1,2... 1,2...) like a           ea                   a---h--/     \    ---b/\--e/   \                rt                   t

She always washes the dishes                                                 (by hand)                                                                  washes them twice,                                                                                        three times,                                                                                        four - but by the fifth time, ifthey’renotclean,   she isn’t going               to wash them                     anymore; she                   asks Beth to              break them   and make themdisappear.

(But Beth puts them aside in the dishwasher - to be washed,                                                                                  rinsed, and                                                                                  sanitizedfor future use, though the numbers never line up, so Alison mustD   E   S   T   R   O   Y   them herself.)

So Beth sits by, watching the dishwasher go unused, rubbing lotion between Alison’s fingers at night because the soap chafes them raw (beneath the rubber gloves) - and goes out to buy new plates whenever they run short.
