🥄 for Robin and Lug please 🥺
hello!! of course!!! this may have run away from me a little bit but i can’t resist the robin/lug siren call
🥄 Arguing over who's the little spoon
“Will you stop moving?” Lug winces as Robin’s elbow digs into his spleen. He had been just about to drift off to sleep when the stray limb set him back to square one.
“Sorry,” Robin whispered, even though it was only the two of them. They hadn’t had much time to do so, but Lug’s hovel was very much becoming a shared home. And now that Lug finally had a home and a lover in his arms, he just wanted to get to sleep. Instead, Robin rotated like a rabbit on a spit.
“But I can’t see your face like this.”
“Why do you need to see my face? We’re going to sleep,” Lug mumbled, but he lifted his arm so that Robin could finish his rotation unhindered.
Robin reached to move a stray lock of hair from out of Lug’s face. “So I can do this,” he said as he leaned in to place a kiss on Lug’s lips. He lingered for a moment, and Lug returned the kiss. They breathed each other in briefly, then parted. Lug wondered if Robin intended to sleep at all. “But that’s not the only reason.” Lug felt the human wiggle around beneath the covers a bit more, then he finally settled with his head against Lug’s broad chest.
“Ah, I see,” Lug replied in a low tone that Robin felt rumble against his ear more than he heard. Lug replaced his arms around Robin’s waist, and warmth blossomed in his chest when he felt Robin do the same. Maybe this feeling was worth the elbow in the ribs after all. Then he closed his eyes and, finally, fell asleep.
1 for can’t help but lose my focus? 👀❤️
hehe hi travvy!! 1. write a scene from can't help but lose my focus from another character's perspective
the hat that kid gave jimmy is so good it's entirely worth the lecture he knows security will give him later for accepting something from a random fan--even if it was just a little girl, so excited to be so close to the team. and she had looked so happy when he put it on!
that cheer caries jimmy through his press conference, made even better by the response from the room as he goofed around with the hat. and then it's over and tango didn't ask a single question
jimmy slips away from the manager before she--or a hovering grian--can stop him. he doesn't especially like mingling after a conference (people love to try to sneak extra questions) but tango didn't ask a single question.
"tango!" he calls, trying to weave through the crowd as they file out. "impulse!" thankfully, they hear him.
"hey kid," tango calls back, which--well, jimmy doesn't love to hear it. even if he is wearing a silly fluffy hat and can't make himself let go of the little paws. but the way tango's looking at him makes up for it a little: fond, with a hint of laughter.
"good game today!" impulse says, as he gets pulled into a conversation with a reporter jimmy doesn't know.
"thanks!" jimmy turns to tango and absolutely does not pout--because he's in a hallway full of press and cameras and gossips. he can feel grian's glare from all the way down the hall. "you didn't have a question for me today."
"i did not." tango agrees. jimmy loses the war against the pout. tango doesn't even sound a little sorry. he made plenty of good calls today! there was plenty of time for tango to ask a question--especially instead of that ridiculously long-winded one about player trades. like jimmy is ever allowed to talk about trades.
"i like your questions," he says, even though he knows it's a stupid thing to say.
tango laughs, but he's still looking at jimmy fondly. "i don't think i ever liked anything the press asked me when i was playing." of course--most of the press are assholes. but most of the press aren't tango. how can jimmy make it any clearer?
"maybe... it's about who's asking the questions..." he says, letting himself sway closer to tango, letting his voice trail off suggestively.
and then grian interrupts, a perfectly timed "timmy!" cutting over everyone's conversations. jimmy nearly swears. grian better not complain about his crush on tango after interrupting him like this--and with that stupid nickname that he refuses to drop too! like tango needs to know another embarrassing thing about jimmy.
but a quick glance at grian--and their pissed off manager--tells jimmy he's not winning this round. "captain's calling," he sighs. he nods at impulse, who turned around at grian's yell. "see ya impulse."
tango and impulse wave as he backs up. "bye tango," he says, trying to keep his eyes on tango for as long as grian will let him get away with.
"see ya jimmy," tango says back. jimmy doesn't let go of the paws but squeezes them in quick succession so the ears flip-flop in a goodbye. tango's whole face contorts with a barely suppressed smile. jimmy will count it as a win.
[fanfic author ask game]
Some Rizzie/Fairydog for the theme!! Maybe based on a fic I never finished, hehe
Ren knew that he wasn’t meant to touch Princess Elizabeth. He was her personal guard, but not meant to be her friend, even if she loved to chat with him and had him call her Lizzie. Even if his tail never stopped wagging around her and he thought she was one of the funniest people he had ever met. This never stopped Lizzie from being all over him and insisting that he be her partner as she was taught how to dance, but he knew that he could never be the one to initiate contact.
Until the masquerade ball, at least. He had the night off, and was supposedly spending it in the town. Instead, he was dared by Lizzie’s other guards, Cleo and BigB, into attending in a mask and interacting with the royals and nobles attending the ball.
Even in disguise, he could identify his Lizzie anywhere. And when she asked him to dance, well… it didn’t hurt to agree. She didn’t have to know. He was pretty sure he was doing a decent job of disguising his voice.
(He really wasn’t, but Lizzie would have recognized her knight from the feeling of his hand in hers anywhere.)
Lizzie would have recognised Ren's wagging tail. She would have recognised his stance. She would have recognised the way he dances in the way they learnt so many years ago.
Now the only question is... How can they do this more often?
“but that was because i was avoiding doing my masters degree” HANDSHAKE. YEAH. I sometimes miss being in school because i wrote like a crazy person instead of doing schoolwork. Now my fics are the things I procrastinate 🙂↕️
i feel like i should mention that i failed the masters degree
It’s okay if not!! But Normal/Scary? Platonic is okay too :3

💻📥💖 for the fic questions? :3
thank u wah
i answered the first two
What do you like most about your own writing?
i mean, everything? it's everything i want in fic that i don't have the money to pay someone else to do. it's for meeee!
but if i have to pick something uh... i'm awesome at describing physical misery despite my lack of experience. everyone's always like "you write the act of being sick so well" and its so funny. girl i get sick once every 5 years. that is pure SKILL. i am not pulling from experience.
hello beautiful <333 for the fic game - 1 for you as well, and 7!!
G’day handsome 🥰
Questions for fic writers
1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)
I still think my first fic, Come Home, is one of the best things I’ve ever written. I’m really proud of it as a character study for Nick, Nicholas and Nicky. And there’s my classic angst in there that I feel like would give a new reader a good understanding of the sort of thing I like. In the same vein Halloween Vignettes is also good for varying levels of my signature angst but does end on a nice light happy note.
7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?
Hmm, I don’t think I’ve really done much worldbuilding in my published fics 🤔 When I finally get on with my Ron’s sister fic I do have some interesting ideas about the cards she would pull from the Deck of Many Things, but that would be spoilers 😉🤫
