She had not been expecting to be pulled away from her partner, a dignitary from Shii'ar a prominent trade planet in this system. They had been making pleasant small talk, he complimented her dress and she made a remark about his skill in the dance–on it went like a scripted scene until a hand at her waist pulls her back against a hard chest and she is spinning away from a puzzled looking man.
Breathing out his name she melts against him, raising herself to the tips of her toes and when that isn’t enough with wind to support her so she could press a cheek against the cool skin of his neck. Giving her an innocent look, he waltzes her away from the dignitary and onto the middle of the dance floor, ignoring the heated looks from the queen.
“He seemed to be rather dull. I simply could not permit you to be exposed to such a man, beloved.”
