▒ ━ RE. IORI UTAHIME . . . @incantat1ons : ” THE SHADOW COVERS YOU IN A NIGHTMARE. ‟
THERE'S A CERTAIN FLAVOR OF SENTIMENTALITY in kyoto that suguru can't quite place : the very air seems to be doused with remorse, as though he is already missing what has yet to be lost , a paradox within a paradox within a paradox. although the sun shines high in the sky, with the last remnants of the summer humidity still lingering, the aftermath of curses hiding on every corner of the school and of japan is enough to sour his mood — not that it takes much to do that these days, no, these days the world is as if covered in a never-ending fog, with no way to escape the ever-growing grey that consumes the streets of japan. somewhere, from the corner, he hears satoru's obnoxious laughter, certainly the aftermath of gloating about some thing or the other — it's been like that lately. suguru is half surprised the higher-ups allowed him to participate of the goodwill event at all : the strongest is always busy nowadays ( suguru tries to ignore the aftertaste of bitterness that comes with the title — it swirls in his stomach like a particularly nasty curse ) , though perhaps it would have been more fair if he wasn't allowed to participate at all.
suguru closes his eyes, weariness clinging to his bones and making a home out of it, his fingers twitching for the small delight and reprieve that a cigarette brings. he only realizes he's not alone anymore when the sun that shined on his face is blocked, now shadowed. he opens his eyes, slowly, a small, [ nihilistic ] smile on his lips as he looks at utahime, friendly as ever ( not being around satoru always brings up a nicer side of him ) — said smile trembles on his lips as soon as he hears her words ; something uncomfortable coils itself around the base of his stomach. „ it's the heat. “ a beat. he shifts uncomfortably . „ it's been positively nightmareish. “
