I got this idea after seeing some of the crossovers, namely with Lupin III, over at @thatgingerowl ! I have had Howl on my mind lately (one of my long-time favorite Miyazaki films; I still remember it premiering in theatres oh gawd I am Sophie ancient) and I initally wanted to do this for their Halloween costumes but I ran out of time. I like to think they are just autumnal cosplaying! 😅🍁🍂

🌠RETRO SHOUJO CHRISTMAS DJ MIX!🌠

Instead of the usual gifs, I edited full episodes of specials for a mini marathon to follow along with each story just as if you were watching on TV!

(Featuring Future Funk / Vaporwave / House / Nu Disco remixes of City Pop Christmas songs (along with a few Holiday songsfrom America, China, and Mexico as well)

As a kid, my dad blasted house music from as soon as we got up till midnight when it was time for bed, making subtitled anime the perfect go to (and kinda only option) while we ate our sweets. I remember loving viewing the specials that way, it was like a baby rave!

It was a peculiar, dreamy experience of a memory that I wanted to recreate and share (especially as future funk and vaporwave reaches an age where I now have memories with both the samples and remixes of a nostalgia based genre which is so strange)

Ever since @frogshunnedshadows made that Vision of Escaflowne post I've been thinking about my sordid otaku past and how the SciFi channel would show anime on Saturday mornings and how I had a subscription to old Animerica magazine, you know what...I've been thinking about it for 30-some years and I really should make that Deedlit cosplay.
