I am done for the day! It's got pockets, it's longer and it's my size, all that I need.

Further thoughts under the cut:

I'm very pleased with my pockets:

Despite steaming them fully flat, there's still a visible line where the hem used to be. If I can find a ribbon that looks nice I may cover that up.

Also the neckline isn't my favourite, but redoing that would mean unpicking the understitching and the facing and that's such annoying work.

For now I'll leave it like this.

The rain is already washing the snow away so I will not be emerging from my lair for the rest of the day. Instead I'll be tailoring this dress my sister handed down to me to fit me. To do:

Ironing

Seamripping and lowering the hem

Taking in the seams at the back

Adding pockets to the sideseams

Maybe changing the neckline? We'll see how I feel

Let's see if I can make this a one day project!

I've redone all the seams, pressed the new seams open and I'm halfway through the french seamed pockets.

Next up, sewing the pleats down and finishing the pockets!
