Senate kidsâ safety probe targets Roblox gaming platform
âSens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) launched an investigation Wednesday into Robloxâs handling of child safety on its online gaming platform.â
They wrote a letter that basically pointed out that Roblox âprioritize revenue and engagement metrics over the safety and well-being of our childrenâ as well as alleged criminal activity
They believe this âwarrants congressional scrutiny,â
Robloxâs response
Matt Kaufman, Robloxâs chief safety officer said back that they donât compromise on safety
âWe look forward to sharing the facts about how we protect children on the platform.â
part of the investigation
âAs part of the probe, the lawmakers have asked Roblox CEO David Baszucki for documents detailing how the platform protects minors as the Senate intensifies scrutiny of childrenâs online experiences.â
âHawley and Durbinâs missive lay out a series of high-profile instances in which adult users allegedly committes âserious acts of violence and harm against children they met via Roblox, including grooming, sexual abuse, kidnapping, rape, and even murder.ââ
âThe pair asked Roblox for a response no later than Aug. 31.
The bipartisan investigation, led by Sens. Josh Hawley and Dick Durbin, follows recent Senate efforts to advance new kidsâ safety legislatio
Oh my god shut up no one believes you know anything. I know this blog war with the others fuels your pathetic life but please, find a new hobby
No, I donât want to argue with anyone here; theyâre a bunch of narrow-minded people who want to see everything through a biased lens because it suits them to make up their own fantasy story.
Theyâre the ones who need to find themselves a proper hobby instead of harassing T and everyone he knows 24 hours a day, 7 days a week â and his friends too â and badmouthing D and Grady. They show no respect for T if they do that.
Youâre in no position to silence me; I realise that you simply canât get your head round the idea that I know what I know and that itâs true, because my words shatter your fairy-tale fantasy, but that wonât stop it from being true; I mentioned this before, many months before the stories that have now come to lightâand which Snake and other blogs publishedâso get this straight: youâve got nothing to gain by arguing with me, however much you might want to; I donât have to explain to you how the things I know stand; I understand that it bothers you that, in the end, what I say is true, but the facts are there; your unwarranted anger towards me is something you need to work through in therapy; Iâm not your punching bag; Iâve only come here to ask that they let T live in peace and, by extension, everyone else too.
He even literally shouted âPeace and Quietâ, and they couldnât care less because theyâre constantly stirring up drama whilst Iâm just hoping theyâll let him live in peace â thatâs all.
I keep repeating: let him live in peace. again and again.
Thatâs enough
When Personal Information Becomes Too Easy to Find
we built the cookie banner. it took about four seconds.
every site you open throws one of these at you. a vendor list in the hundreds, four screens of toggles, a legitimate interest tab quietly switched on by default, and a reject button parked two clicks further away than accept.
Hoot doesn't run ads. no advertiser means no reason to build a profile of you, which means there is nothing to ask you to consent to. the banner is empty because the list behind it is empty.
it is one person building an app for a small number of people instead of a company assembling an audience to sell. the rest follows from that.
invite only for now. code DBA643A3 skips the waitlist.
Hoot is a fresh, no-ads social network with feeds you control, gorgeous posts, and zero tracking. Make your space, invite your people, and h
Kinda what age verification laws feel like to me. This isn't autobiographical or anything, but, yknow. Many such cases.
It's getting harder and harder to exist outside of societal norms (this is on purpose), and I possibly could have gotten that point across without drawing so much little teeny tiny detail but ehh.

In response to the anons comments about the âLikeâ feature on Instagram
Hello, Iâm going to respond to two anonymous comments Iâve received which touch on similar topics. Anonymous number 1: Iâm glad we at least agree on something for once;
Anon 2, let me take issue with the idea that the fanâs encounter with him is 100% credible â not because she wasnât able to meet him or even go to see CC with her children, but because, on the one hand, it seems like a publicity stunt for the girl and, for her, more than anything else; and if they were already following each other beforehand, who can assure us that that part of the story isnât a fabricated anecdote?
Furthermore, the story is told in such a vague way that tagging T wouldnât do any harm at all, unless â as I said â the story is staged and is a form of covert advertising for the girl, which might not please T; itâs clear she didnât want anyone to find her; the chances of that reaching Tâs fans even before the âlikeâ she herself gave are 0.00000001% Interestingly, you fall within that percentage, so, as youâre implying, thatâs already cause for discussion, because your algorithm must be very finely tuned, but never mind that â now Iâm wondering whether she was in the wrong for âlikingâ it and drawing attention to herself.
Well, on that point I agree, because itâs clear sheâs pressing buttons she shouldnât and cares little for Tâs principles and boundaries â even for Tâs own safety and peace of mind â and itâs obvious she doesnât respect that, which says a lot about the sort of person she is.
Actions speak louder than words.
Be very careful, mate.
