Senate kids’ safety probe targets Roblox gaming platform

“Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) launched an investigation Wednesday into Roblox’s handling of child safety on its online gaming platform.”

They wrote a letter that basically pointed out that Roblox “prioritize revenue and engagement metrics over the safety and well-being of our children” as well as alleged criminal activity

They believe this “warrants congressional scrutiny,”

Roblox’s response

Matt Kaufman, Roblox’s chief safety officer said back that they don’t compromise on safety

“We look forward to sharing the facts about how we protect children on the platform.”

No, I don’t want to argue with anyone here; they’re a bunch of narrow-minded people who want to see everything through a biased lens because it suits them to make up their own fantasy story.

They’re the ones who need to find themselves a proper hobby instead of harassing T and everyone he knows 24 hours a day, 7 days a week – and his friends too – and badmouthing D and Grady. They show no respect for T if they do that.

Kinda what age verification laws feel like to me. This isn't autobiographical or anything, but, yknow. Many such cases.

In response to the anons comments about the ‘Like’ feature on Instagram

Hello, I’m going to respond to two anonymous comments I’ve received which touch on similar topics. Anonymous number 1: I’m glad we at least agree on something for once;

Anon 2, let me take issue with the idea that the fan’s encounter with him is 100% credible – not because she wasn’t able to meet him or even go to see CC with her children, but because, on the one hand, it seems like a publicity stunt for the girl and, for her, more than anything else; and if they were already following each other beforehand, who can assure us that that part of the story isn’t a fabricated anecdote?

Furthermore, the story is told in such a vague way that tagging T wouldn’t do any harm at all, unless – as I said – the story is staged and is a form of covert advertising for the girl, which might not please T; it’s clear she didn’t want anyone to find her; the chances of that reaching T’s fans even before the ‘like’ she herself gave are 0.00000001% Interestingly, you fall within that percentage, so, as you’re implying, that’s already cause for discussion, because your algorithm must be very finely tuned, but never mind that – now I’m wondering whether she was in the wrong for ‘liking’ it and drawing attention to herself.

Well, on that point I agree, because it’s clear she’s pressing buttons she shouldn’t and cares little for T’s principles and boundaries – even for T’s own safety and peace of mind – and it’s obvious she doesn’t respect that, which says a lot about the sort of person she is.

Actions speak louder than words.
