hi! i just wanna go ahead and say that you don't have to answer this if you'd prefer not to and i will look for someone else but whenever i see you give advice it's always SO GOOD so i figured i would turn here first if that's alright?? so i just joined an established rp and they seemed really welcoming!! a lot of people reacted to my plot calls, a lot of people welcomed me to the discord, etc., but i sent everyone who reacted some ideas (1/3?)
with reasoning that wasn't like 'oh ur fc is hot' (that they could take or leave of course!) you know? (that said i didn't send many shippy ones haha! but the vibe!) anyway only a few people have gotten back to me and of those few people only one or two have added on more instead of just a kinda 'yeah!' -- do you have any advice on how to feel more included/get more plots in an established rp when you've been reaching out? idk if i'm doing something wrong or if the messages are getting buried (i'm really nervous that if they are they won't be seen again bc i'm eternally too anxious to send a follow-ups haha) or what's happening but i was just expecting some more plotting than has been happening. so sorry for all these messages - brevity clearly isnt my strong suit haha - but please lmk if you'd rather i ask someone else it's totally fine!!! thank you either way and i hope you have a lovely day/night!!!! <3
hello and tysm for the kind words ! i completely understand your feeling here , and i can admit - it's an odd situation and something i've been in similarly before . how long has it been since you've messaged them ? and are they active on the gc / dash ? i think if it's been a few days , there is nothing wrong with sending another mssg just saying v nicely ' hi ! i know ur probably busy sorry i just wanted to check if u'd gotten the chance to read the above and if ur interested at all ? ' . thats a good way of following up , bc some ppl may very well be like me and just Not Reply to discord mssgs sometimes bc they get overwhelmed or they just Forget or they accidentally click in when they didnt mean to and then forget to reply altogether etc . so lets assume maybe one of those , in the first instance .
if they reply and don't have much energy or just say smth like yeah sure sounds good , and dont give much back to you . . this is when i'd reach out n mssg the admins and express exactly what you've said to me . you've reached out to ppl . you've come up with as many plots as u can for diff chars and stuff , and u love the rp / love everyone ooc , but ur finding it hard to really slot yourself in and really get proper plots that people like / interact with . if they're good admins , they'll immediately work to remedy this and mb do an event like randomising char pairings to write a thread together , or a discord event , or maybe they'll even start having their own chars really interact and get plots with urs !
however , there's also the case in that established rps are established and sometimes . . ppl just get way too comfortable and they don't want to expand / get any more plots or connections bc they've gotten when they need and they don't need or want anything else in terms of writing and plots . this is the worst kind of established rp to get in . bc the admins usually also are a bit Eh on the whole front . if this is the case . . do not wait for it to get better or for other new ppl to join . you are better off leaving . truly . seriously . just leave . i know u love ur own chars and u may love everyone ooc , but it is unfair on u to join a rp and not actually get to rp !
anyways . . i hope this helps ! pls know that u deserve writing partners who get JUST AS excited as u and want to plot and write with u too ! it shouldn't all just fall on u to do !
