Tired today! Catching up on rest I guess.
More whole lotta nothing, just chores today. And hanging out with husband and pups.
Set up the Cricut Joy my friends gave me. Looks like the best I can do with it is cut some free use vinyl shape stickers; their subscription system is garbage.
My mom made the shirt for me with her Cricut, lol. And she found a bunch of donated fabric and sent it to me, which I thought was sweet!

Spent all day at my Apiary. It got to 82F today!! These poor bees have must have whiplash lol.
But ALL the colonies had eggs and larvae, like the queens didn't take their brood break during the freeze! Some colonies got some extra boxes added today for growth. The rest are almost ready for theirs! All the hive checks looked great ❤️🐝
Also picked up my new pistols from the shop and husband had a good time practicing with our friend.
I'm so fucking wiped out now though lol I really let winter make me soft 😭 that was a lot of work! I'm laying in the grass in the apiary in that photo bc my back was killing me! I'm too tall to beekeep lol.

Picked up the mail for the bee club today. The weather warmed up dramatically! So I'll be visiting my yard in a few days to start some early spring prep.
Took the pups to the Navasota River. Most of the land in Texas is private so it's hard to find places to be in public without it being a manmade park or something, which sucks. There are some state parks nearby but they're still over an hour drive in one direction.
Things look gloomy now but once spring truly hits it'll be a lush, humid greenhouse again and looking more like Jurassic Park lol.
Got more work done on my brother's quilt! Finished the small navy blue blocks, started the royal blue blocks. Gotta have this done by March 1, so I can ship it out to Alaska in time to arrive before his wedding!

POP QUIZ! Can you spot the queen in the bee photo?! It's on easy mode! It was exciting to work a client's colonies with them and be able to have them find the queen on the frame, they always enjoy it.
I bought 200lbs of sugar today 😭 It's not spring yet and the plants know it, even if the weather doesn't. So there's no food but the bees are still foraging and growing and working. So I gotta supplement them! Thankfully I made sure the bees had plenty of pollen reserves going into winter; most of their important macro and micro nutrients are in the pollen. So the sugar syrup feed isn't the healthiest, but its better than starving to death!
One of the bags of sugar punctured in my truck on the way home and made a very annoying mess, but I was able to salvage it.
The customer's whole yard looked great today, too. I've got all my customers scheduled for work this week, one a day through Friday. Plus the bee club board meeting Thursday night. My husband is in Dallas hanging out with friends from out of country. It's just me and the pups this week!
And I got one whole ring of diamonds sewn onto the main compass on the quilt top! It's already so huge!

I need a haircut!
Pretty chill day. I actually got my husband to go shopping with me for once, but his social threshold is super low, so we kinda rushed through everything. But we got all we needed regardless.
Had a shitty run today, but I'm not terribly worried about it. It feels temporary.
The prior treasurer finally contacted me again. Tuesday is the first bee club meeting of the year, and I feel so unprepared! And she wants to meet Tuesday before the meeting to transfer the bank account and email access 😭 couldn't have waited longer, jeez!

Busy day wrapping up bee feeding. Super grateful that this last yard wasn't showing loss yet. But the hardest part has yet to come, so we'll see how things turn out again soon.
Got in a small run because I missed a run day. I will try a longer one tomorrow too. All I have tomorrow is storm prep, and it should be in the high 40sF, so it'll be cold but doable.
Had to make some cozy food for dinner, so I made gumbo and that herbs and cheese soda bread that @belovedgoofball was teasing everyone with yesterday! It was great.

Went out for a run this morning, cold and windy but sunny. It was busier on the trail, everyone was friendly.
I tried my new Sage Collective brand joggers I bought at Costco. They're extremely comfortable for lounging, and great for running. Not so baggy that I felt like I would trip, but not as clingy as leggings. Didn't notice them, really, which is ideal for a run IMHO. The only thing I'd change is the length, but I'm a taller girlie, so most pants are a bit short on me, especially when I sit down lol.
I don't like the way I look in sunglasses for some reason, I think I look like a fed lol.

Busy bee day!
My yard is doing very well and staying right on timeline, which is such a blessing, I'm so grateful and relieved. A lot of people had a lot of loss this winter, and our winter is going out mild and warm, so I am experiencing a streak of luck 🍀
My neck is still killing me though, this sucks!!
