while it might have been an unpopular opinion, miranda actually didn’t mind when the group stopped in motels. usually she was always trailing behind the others due to the fact that she wasn’t a genetically modified avian hybrid (which was not a phrase she’d ever imagined would be a part of her daily vocabulary), and having to work that much harder to try to keep up and not cause any unnecessary delays. at the motels she could finally take a moment to relax and actually earn her keep, patching up anyone who’d been injured and getting to practice all that she’d learned during her time at nursing school.
this stop was especially nice for her, considering the fact that aura had decided to put her and crunch in the same room. granted it had been so that the two could keep ace and switch in line, but she was appreciative regardless. miranda was all smiles as she sat on the bed, so happy to be hanging out with the other girl that she didn’t even bother to yell after the boys as they left to inevitably find trouble. she knew that she’d hear it from aura if anything happened, but she was sure the two could have fun and still manage to get back in one piece. “so,” miranda started with a chuckle. “if aura asks we definitely have to make it seem like we put up more of a fight when they left. because i definitely don’t wanna get chewed out over this.”
