More bad news for physical media
As a physical media enjoyer, this is very sad news and large companies have seemed to give up on physical media. However, it seems that it only affects LG standalone players and PC Blu-ray drives optical aren't affected by the discontinuation so you still might be able to get a USB drive and make a PC / laptop Blu ray compatible.
