Avatar AU where Aang is not the Avatar (anymore) because he died for a second when he was stuck in the ice or something and the cycle moved on but everyone including Aang are convinced he is the Avatar.

He tries waterbending with Katara but it doesn't work. Katara thinks it's because she is a bad teacher. Aang thinks he is just really bad at it.

And nobody realizes he is not the Avatar, they just think he is 12 years old, of course he still has a lot to learn

This keeps up until they are at the north pole, and Aang wants to learn from Paku and Paku immediately realizes Aang is not just bad at waterbending, he's just not a waterbender at all. Or the Avatar.

So from then on Aang just pretens to be the Avatar to keep the Fire Nation from realizing that they are after the wrong guy the entiretime. Also the Gaang is now searching for the Avatar to teach him or her airbending and it's just very chaotic in general.

Huh. The girl who, among other really shitty, emotionally abusive things, bullied me for being a disabled gender-nonconforming lesbian when we were much younger, is liking Facebook pages about queer feminism.

And while I realized even back then that she had her own queer issues, that basically manifested in doing all this subtle vaguely sexual (as much as it can be between kids that age... like, touching me wayyyy too much. And basically forcing a kiss on me out of nowhere once.) shit to me without any consent from me at all. So I can't say I'm very enthusiastic about encountering her in this movement.

She would make a great writer for, like, xojane or Jezebel, though. :/
