Excited to see our new and returning members-who signed up at the org fair- at our First General Body meeting next Sunday, September 25.
Week 2!
The second full week of classes is here and it seems like the Smithies are already cracking down with lots of readings and homework during their "free" time. On top of that, a lot of us just signed up to join all the orgs that appealed to us during the org fair. Now the question of the essence... how will we balance it all?!
Have no fear, we're Smithies!
Use this time to get in touch with your professors and start visiting those office hours in order to get familiar with them and the course. Also, we should be able to think about our extracurricular as fun study breaks; not another stressful thing! So when the time comes, take a break, close your book, and go to an org meeting or event!
Coming up this week..
Now that we're back in the groove of things, social events and non academic opportunities are among us!
Tomorrow night, my house will have the first Milk and Cookies! I love this break in our homework routine because it's a chance to catch up with friends, take a mind break, remind yourself that you're not the only one stressed.
On Thursday, there will be a tie dye activity hosted by the Student Event Committe on Chapin lawn during lunch, all materials provided.
This Friday we will be having the Student Org Fair, where alllll of Smith's organizations table about Chapin lawn to recruit new students. I'll be working the admissions table with more interns and some Gold Key Tour guides. I love trying to get students involved with admissions because it's a great chance to learn about what happens at admissions and give input based on your experience as a student.
Another org I'll be looking at is the Nosotr@s table, tha latina organization on campus. I have been part of Nosotr@s for three years now and it's been one of the greatest decisions I've made. It's like I found my family in college. Anyways, we're also looking for new interested members!
There's always something new everyday and so many fun things to be a part of. But never lose sight of tracking your time and make sure we're still making time for work and time for ourselves.
