It was deep in the heart of the evening hours. Everyone else had already packed up their things and settled on home. The offices were all dark except a few working lights for the cleaning crew. All but one. Iliza was swiveling side to side in her desk chair. Racking her brain. It wasn’t like her to not be able to settle on any new concepts. The sound of her tapping her pen against the mahogany desk echoed down the halls and her eyes were fixated across the computer screen with a blank word document open. “Come on, Iz. Think.” She muttered quietly to herself. Unaware and unconcerned about anyone that may be around.
Drip. Drop. The rain splashed against her office window. Ilza had noticed the clouds rolling in earlier in the day, but she had hoped she would miss the storm before it was time to head home. No such luck. As the moments ticked by, the rain fell harder. She was out of things to write and she just wanted to get home to her boys. Iliza began to pack up her things when she heard a light tapping at his door. “Come in.” she exclaimed from the other side of the door.

“ what d’ya want this, m’am? ”
the gruff voice of the moving van man spoke up from behind her as she looked at the new townhouse she was about to inhabit, slightly startled, she let out a sigh and turned around to face him. “ yeah, yeah, uh... just leave that in the front room. is that the last box there is? ” his nod confirmed the answer to her question as he walked up the front steps and disappeared into the building. her hands gripping the handles of the stroller, she glanced down at her daughter.
“ time for a new adventure huh, lil’ monkey. ” her voice was oddly soft as she squatted down before the buggie and unbuckled Jackie, fixing to pick her up.

orthographewrites is sort of actually.. like amazing? And sometimes I’m shocked they follow me? And write with me? I mean, like. Her writing is flawless and she’s so.. intelligent and creative and it’s actually an honor that they want to write with me, and are so kind and understanding with me?

“Cinnamon! Come on out. I don’t know what game you’re playing but it’s not funny.” Autumn had been looking all over his side of the house. The black cat with bright orange eyes had gone missing. He searched everywhere from the woods to the big library that he shared with Winter. He even asked Summer if she’d seen her. So far nothing. He was just going over to search for Winter when he ran right into the other season. “Hey. Have you seen my cat?”

Layken found herself staring at Simon as she stood in the door frame to the bedroom, freshly out of the shower and with a cup of hot tea in her hands. It had taken her forever to find the courage to address the topic she was about to bring up. She knew it most likely would not go all that smoothly, but it was about time that she did what had to be done for her little family to get better. Simon had been at his worst lately, and she knew what that felt like. Support was the only thing she could give -- support, and maybe a little push.
“Hey.” She said softly, a smile on her lips as she walked over to the bed. After putting her cup down on to the bedside table, she slid underneath the covers next to Simon, slightly leaning against him as her eyes found his. “There’s something I wanted to talk to you about.”
The idea had been in her head for a while now, but Layken hadn’t truly considered it until the talk she had with her boss today. Now that she knew there was a place they could go to where a job was waiting for her, it was much easier. They needed a fresh start. A clean slate. Especially Simon did.
“Simon, I think... I think maybe it would be better for all of us if we moved somewhere else. Away from your parents. Away from mine. Away from all the bad things that happened to us here. I think after what happened to you, you need a fresh start. We all do. I’m worried about you, and... and I think maybe distance would do some good.”
