There were benefits to dating a cybergirl, though it took Momo a while to get over the initial strangeness of it- kissing a computer screen would never be anything but cold, and clutching a phone would never be the same as twining her fingers with a soft, reassuring hand. As their relationship progressed, she found herself both increasingly frustrated by the distance, and increasingly grateful for it; where a human girlfriend would have to wait for her backstage at concerts, Ene could cheer her on from right by her side (so long as she kept her phone close), and where a human girlfriend would have held her as she cried, Ene would weed out whatever nasty online comment had hurt her and trace it to its source, making life a living hell for whoever was behind it and smiling all the time.
The best part, though, was lying beside her at night- Momo was the only person she knew with a girlfriend who glowed and made soft bleeping sounds to help her fall asleep.
