The bar isn’t performing up to standard today, perhaps because there aren’t many people around. Is it the holiday spirit? Joy sighs, tugs at the aura she’s channeling and reels it in closer to her. The bar isn’t that big, and with a smaller radius the aura might be more powerful. Or, she’ll expend less energy, which is also a win for her. She really ought to experiment with that.
Tucking that thought into her mental file, Joy moves slowly through the bar, a small smile fixed firmly on her face. Behind her a couple of teenage boys are starting to yell, but no proper fist fighting yet; she’s not sure if it just hasn’t escalated or if it’s because they just don’t look like they’ll be able to win a fight, either of them. Joy sits down at the bar, nodding at the bartender who looks extra exasperated today. He’s particularly slow to anger, which she supposes is a pretty good thing considering her antics. As he makes her usual fruity drink (created specifically for her by him, because she’d made a fuss about everything else), Joy looks through the patrons seated at the bar. Alcohol and anger are a good mix, and everyone along the bar seems ripe for the picking.
The ones at the dance floor are always less interesting, just creepily predatory and Joy prefer to knock them out with her own fists rather than others. There isn’t enough space for a good, proper fight there anyway. “Another!” She hears someone yell, a woman with grey-streaked hair and heels sharp enough to kill. Someone else makes a rude comment, gesturing at her chest, and the lady immediately turns on him, joined in by a few others at the bar. Joy winks at the bartender when he passes her her drink, pleased when he just rolls his eyes. Looks like the crowd just needed a little nudge.
She rests her chin against the palm of her hand, fingers tapping her cheek. Most of the bar is occupied by the small fight brewing around the lady and that unfortunate man, and there isn’t quite enough time before her next set for her to try to lure some of the private rooms out to play. So much to do, so little time...
Joy frowns when she notices him - this one guy who’s been coming occasionally, unlucky enough to have appeared most times when she activates her aura. She doesn’t like him. He’s absolutely boring, even the most stoic of drinkers she’s seen have fallen under her spell, but this guy? Holy fuck he does nothing at all. A quick glance at her phone tells her she’s got about twenty minutes before her break is over, so she smirks and takes her drink, walking towards him.
“Hi,” she says, saccharine sweet, and places her drink next to his. “Mind if I sit here?” She’s already seated, without waiting for his answer, excited. She’s going to break him.
