“Forgiveness” (part 1)
dude I love curse of the black pearl, it’s my fav promo quest so far!
With this comic, I wanted to make this scene more emotional and focus on Sarah’s reaction to Pierce and Uncle Remington’s words, which in my interpretation of her character, are the most important things to her.
Sarah hasn’t seen Pierce in YEARS. The last time they talked was before he moved to Flotsom with Remington. Low-key I think Sarah either said something hurtful or just gave the most barebones goodbye ever, in hopes that Pierce would come to hate her or learn to forget her.
So when she hears that Pierce called her a hero, she has an epiphany, giving her an answer to the one question that’s been haunting her life:
“Am I capable of change?” (or can she ever redeem herself?)
A younger Sarah would have said no. She plays the role of a traitor too well. A traitor to all the crews she joins, a traitor to Scrimshaw, a traitor to her own family. Everyone she meets say the same thing when they last see her. She’s “as loyal as a snake”.
But now shes found the right crew! Full of people who inspire each other to become a better pirate and make it their mission to save the Spiral!
so hearing one of the people Sarah loves most call her a hero (the same way he did back with they were kids) and acknowledging her efforts, really hits her deep in the heart (in a good way) .
