Get Your Drink On || Charlie, Baker, & Ray

It had been a... confusing couple of days to say the least. Charlie still felt like she was walking around in a haze. From trying to avoid Daniel, which in all honestly was one of the easiest things to do. She even stopped going and checking on the new recruits in case he was also doing the same thing. But yet she still found herself walking by the building they were in, the military mess hall, and Daniels office a couple dozen times day. Yeah, Charlie was trying real hard to avoid him

Then the deal with Ray yesterday. Charlie still wasn’t sure what she agreed to easily to it. She knew she was helping a friend. Charlie trusted Ray, and she wanted to actually be able to help him. But it was a big risk.

Everything all adding up Charlie wanted to get drunk. It was easy to get Baker to agree to come out drinking with her. While it took a while to find a night they both had off, Charlie was happy it gave her time to sell a few things and get a couple more ration cards. With them in hand Charlie made her way to the bunks after her shift.

She changed from the uniform to more normal looking clothing quick before finding Baker. Of course he was standing exactly where she told him to meet her at. “I hope you haven’t been waiting to long. Morgan was slow coming in for his shift after me and I had to wait.” You would think someone scared of her would actually be on time but no.

“Thanks for coming to get a few drinks with me. Been a long ass week”

Booze Run || Charlie & Baker

It was rare for Charlie to be out of bed this early when she wasn’t on patrol or watch in the morning route. Half the time she could miss the morning debriefing if she didn’t have a morning shift.

Yet, here she was, on her day off, standing up by the gate right between sectors 2 and 3. Charlie was glad she convinced Baker to come with her. The last thing she wanted was to have to try to sneak out of the QZ through the tunnels in the back of the military sector. With someone coming with her they could actually walk out a gate with out breaking the rule of not leaving the zone on your own. And, of course, Charlie knew it would be a lot less boring if she wasn’t out there on her own.

Charlie didn’t have to tell Baker what she was looking for exactly, or more so who she was hoping to fine something for. She just told him that she wanted to go searching for anything that might be left. With an old map of Atlanta in her hand Charlie found were the old liquor stores would have been. With Daniel’s birthday coming up Charlie wanted to be able to fine a semi decent bottle of bourbon. It might not be the best gift, but it was something she knew he would like.

So now she waits out by the gate, her bag tossed over her shoulder hoping Baker gets there on time. It’s the first time Charlie has went outside the QZ since the run in with clickers with Daniel. It is making her antsy and she didn’t like it. She wants to get out there and back as quickly as possible with minimal run ins with the infected. She looked around and caught sight of Baker making his way over to her and she smiled. Standing up straight she waited for Baker to get closer.

“Mornin’.” Charlie nodded at him with a smile as Baker finally got there. “Was beginning to think you weren't going to make it out of bed. Ready to go?”
