Vincent kept focused on his eyes in the mirror. It was leg day. He breathed in as he went down, and out as he went back up with 125 pounds on his shoulders. It was an easy day. He just needed to ease his back into his routine after a bit of a break.
The moment he got home after Savannah dumped him, the rage he tried to push down deep resurfaced. Vincent didn’t even fully remember what he did, he just remembered coming back into himself, his step dad having him trapped in a bear hug so he couldn’t hit anything else, his room practically in tatters.
His mom had him in therapy again not two days later. He knew she was afraid of his anger issues, and he hated himself for it. But here he was, channeling that anger into something productive, just like the good ole doctor said.
His legs were starting to shake as he pushed himself, his bare shoulders ached from the bar resting upon them. But he had to keep going. He’d do anything not to feel like....this.
