how do you like me now? ; otto

The brat won’t listen to him.
Everytime he tries to explain his situation and encourage to look him up on Empire files, all he gets is a shock from his stun cuffs that char the leaves on his dandelion. Eventually, he gives up and resorts to yelling in protest. One of his dandelion leaves catches on fire from all the electric shocks he’s receiving and he screams in frustration until the second officer puts it out. “I can’t believe I’m getting detained.
He’s getting detained while on the hunt for a pricy criminal on the watchlist. He’s getting detained when he was only a few steps from capturing his target and reaping the bounty. He’s getting detained as the criminal laughed at him and ran away.
“Are you fucking stupid?” he snaps. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve been trying to track that pirate down? How much credits I spent to get favors pulled? You let him get away to arrest me! Me, who wasn’t doing anything wrong! Stop manhandling me! I can walk myself just -- I told you to stop grabbing my arm like that.”
He twists to free his arms, which are pinched against his back. They’ve cuffed his feet too, so he isn’t able to take long steps without zapping himself. The heavy metal locks and chains of the device rattle as he twists again, more harshly this time. “Zelosians bruise like bananas, so lay off.”
It doesn’t help that the second officer isn’t doing anything to correct the newer recruit who thinks the zelosian is a dangerous, runaway convict that isn’t to be trusted. He’s only inflating whatever misconceptions that the kid already had about him. “Do you want me to show the credits the navy wired into my account?”
He has several accounts -- some the empire is aware of, others they are not -- and sometimes will only take payments in physical form, so he’s spread himself evenly in case something ever happens. There are certain untouchable, “retirement” funds that he keeps his fingers out of unless it’s an absolute emergency or the universe falls into full-scale warfare. It allows them to blossom with beautiful interest rates and other fun perks. But apart from the untouchables, he’s been struggling to make enough credits to live off of.
“I needed that payout,” he grumbles. “How am I gonna eat Mr. Officer, huh?”
Technically, Zelosians only need sunlight to eat but he can argue that he’s half-human.
