Pick-Me-Ups || Hank & Meredith || V9 Late Wednesday Afternoon

With his new found experience, Hank had been able to land a decent job quite quickly since coming home. It paid enough for him to comfortably help Shay with rent and give him the remnants of a social life. Plus he was finally learning how to actually cook - which was not something he’d even given much thought towards before then, given that previously pretty much every single one of his meals had been made for him.
He wasn’t cooking today, however, the manager just had him taking orders, since they’d been busy and he was still learning the ropes. But now that things had started to settle after the lunch time rush, Hank was able to breath and take a note of the customers left, dotted around the restaurant.
A familiar face, sitting at the end of the bar stuck out to him, and Hank couldn’t stop himself from going up and saying hi. Just thinking about how much had happened since that time at the same diner, it made his head hurt.
“Hey stranger, you’re looking a little bummed out.” He said, surprised he could remember how their conversation went all that time ago, given that most days he couldn’t remember what he had for breakfast.
