This marvelously intriguing fish is called the Pacific spiny lumpsucker (Eumicrotremus orbis). Their set of pelvic fins evolved to form a single strong sucker disc giving them the ability to anchor to rocks and kelp. They also have no bladder, so can reach depths of over 480’. They have been trained to do tricks, and were also introduced as great pest managers killing sea lice on salmon farms. I’ve posted pics of these adorables before (and will again). Cutest little fish ever don’t you think? 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟 #pacificspinylumpsucker #tiffanybozic #fishvideo #calacademy (at California Academy of Sciences)
