The ultimate stage show song

This is my ultimate stage show song. This is just perfection. I’ve always been in love with the old-hollywood style and I adore pin-up girls.    They represent that playful, classy femininity that I’m just too much of a lazy, overthinking feminist for in my private life, but I think they are the essence of the woman as a gender role.    The woman represented in this video is my stripper persona. The woman I would never be and the one I always have been. The red lips, the soft locks, the perfect symmetry of the face and the accented brows and cheekbones the evening gown and corsets are all the accessories of the “perfect” woman. The woman who is smart enough to appreciate how smart the man is, but never intimidatingly smart.  The unapproachable, eerie beauty who eventually gives in to only him...  The woman every man is dreaming about, but can never get, as the moment he gets her, she starts to deteriorate. The fragility of youth and beauty. The traits society values so much and struggles to conserve and capture. I always wonder if just ONE of all those successful men married to a once beautiful, smart, sexy and probably just as successful women get the irony of the lyrics...

April 24, 2016 12:20PM Last night, I found myself opening my beautiful-mess-box or more like, my remnants of you. After a loooong time, I’ve had the courage to look at the gifts you gave me (and hug them!) and reread all the letters we’ve exchanged back then. I didn’t realize how much letters I have from you until last night. I found myself crying and laughing at the same time while rereading every letter from you. I can vividly picture you making kwento of them to me. I can vividly picture all the moments you were talking about in there and my god, how much I miss you!

Yes, it still got a sting on me. Yes, I still found myself missing you. But not to the point of desperately wanting you back. I just miss the old me when I was with you. Where everything just felt right!

Thank you for existing as a living reminder for me not to settle for less (than you gave me). I’ll always be thankful for you! Always. 😊
