I’d just like to point out that this is the second time in this show that Zhang Qiling has speedily ripped an item of clothing off of Wu Xie. Do with that information what you will.

Okay, call me a dumbass if you want. But it was only at this point that I realised there actually is something wrong with Hei Xiazi’s eyes and the blind comments weren’t just a reference to him making the decision to wear sunglasses all the time. I thought it was a fashion choice and he’s just been being a prick about it whenever he made a reference to being such 😭 but now I’ve googled it and I understand he was being literal in episode 3 when he says he sees better in the darkness.
Side note, I do feel like it’s slightly unfair that Xie Yuchen didn’t get to see him like this.
Stunning parallel to the sound waves obliterating their organs scene when Zhang Qiling was in pain but was still immediately concerned about Wu Xie. Wu Xie can’t even fucking see in this scene and he immediately wants to rush into a nest of venomous snakes because Zhang Qiling got injured. They’re made for each other truly.
I’m not sure if Wu Sanxing has had an up close and personal seat to witness Pingxie’s great love story but I’m sure he’s picked up enough by proxy. And now he has to third wheel whatever the fuck Heihua have going on. Which honestly, I feel like I’m intruding whenever those two have a scene together so god forbid actually being within close proximity to these two.
I do appreciate that there is some hurt/comfort going the other way in Pingxie’s dynamic. Also, you’re telling me these two were stuck side by side under a tent all night? I guess I got my tent sharing scene after all.
Wang Pangzi is the most paper thin addition to not have this scene get shot down by the censors I’ve ever seen.

Review:
Ok so as a super biased Daomu Biji series fan, I loved it. Revamp of the first couple of series was nice (and arguably somewhat needed). I remember each scene from the old ones and I think they did it really really well in this one. I have yet to read the novels so unfortunately I can't compare those two yet. However, once I do, this review will be updated with the detailed info lmao. I love the actors for being so (realistically) dramatic whenever they get thrown to the ground or fall. Wu xie's reactions to the snakes and creatures is my favorite thing ever! It's fucking hilarious. I love love loved this drama and I hope you guys enjoy this whump list for it!
