Josie loved to explore, and the corn maze was no exception. They’d already headed through it once last weekend, and had had plenty of time to forget the path by now. They grinned when they spotted Lucas, also looking like he was about to head into the corn maze. “Hey, I was going to try to do this thing blind-folded, do you want to join me?” Josie asked with an excited grin. It was probably a terrible idea to most people, but they hoped that if anyone was willing to agree, it would be one of their childhood friends.
GENERAL NOTES: Barbra and Lucas arrive at their apartment for the first time together and Lucas has a surprise for Barbra. OOC: This is a bit late posting but hey I thought why not.
Barbra smiled at Lucas as they reached their new appartment, it still felt strange to her to think that this is where they would be living together. She smiled as she walked towards the door although her feet were killing her from her heels so she decided to grab hold of Lucas's shoulders- You better no drop me - She said quietly as she jumple on to his back giving him a little bit of a surprise
Lucas smiled they were finally home, this was the first night they had their new apartment and he wanted to christen practically every room. This night couldn't seem more real, they had an apartment and they were going to live together. He chuckled, holding her leg to keep her on his back, he turned to kiss her cheek, "Trust me if I drop you I'd be sure to catch you before you gotten really hurt."
Barbra: giggled a little, "Okay well you better not, I'm counting on it" She said smiling as they made there way inside, she was scared but excited to start her life in a new apartment with Lucas and she was excited to spend their first night in the apartment no matter how scared she was.
Lucas shook his head, "And here I thought you always trusted me babe," he chuckled, walking up two flights of stairs to get to the level. Lucas couldn't help but wiggle his ass against her crotch for a second. Moments later coming to a stop at the door to their apartment, he placed her on the floor, and pulled the key out of his pocket, "You ready to come inside," he looked at her, biting his bottom lip.
Barbra: -Barbra bit her lip, and giggled, "Of course I do" She smiled feeling his movements as they were walking up the stairs or more like Lucas was walking up the stairs. As they stood outside the door, she smiled and looked at him, "Yeah I think so" She smiled looking at him.
Lucas looked into her eyes, just taking her all in, tonight was great at homecoming, now he'd get to spend the rest of the weekend with his girl in their new apartment. He took his hands in hers, squeezing her hands, "I love you so much Barbra, I can't believe we got an amazing apartment to live in and have you decorate and have it be as awesome as us."
Barbra: -Barbra smiled as they walked in, taking a deep breath looking around, she loved it, she actually forgot how much she loved it when they looked around it. Holding his hand she smiled, "I love you too. I look forward to decorating, I am just glad I got do this with you" She smiled holding his hand tight as she looked around the place.
Lucas smiled, watching Barbra look around the apartment, he loved it too, but not as much as she loved it. Lucas cupped her cheek and let her look at him, "I have a surprise for you Barbra, I love you like crazy, like you're always on my mind, and the whole week while I was giving myself some space to think, it only took me a few hours to forgive you because I was planning on a way to make our first night here pretty spectacular and I honestly don't see how any of it can go wrong," he gave her a short kiss, "Stay here and I won't be long, just have to finish up the touches I started before picking you up for homecoming," he told her as he went into the bedroom closing the door behind him making sure the room was ready to be slept in.
Barbra: -Barbra looked at him as she looked around still before taking her heels off that were killing her feet, hearing what he said made her nearly cry, she didn't really want to think about the other day but to know it only took a few hours made her feel relieved, "What do you mean a surprise?" She asked looking at him, she wasn't really sure what kind of surprise he had in mind and part of her was scared but she smiled as she gave him a small kiss. "Okay" She said quietly as she looked around again trying to keep herself occupied.
Lucas chuckled he could just sense her nervousness radiating off of her, he knew it was working and she wouldn't expect a thing. In a couple of minutes he was able to rearrange the rose petals he placed on the bed, a light the candles that were put around the room making a nice glow, but luckily he had a dimmer light so he could have the lights on bright enough to be able to see but dull enough to let the candles give their effect. He moved to sit on the bottom of the bed and he told Barbra that she could come in.
Barbra: -Barbra stood there looking around, he said he wouldn't be long but it felt like he was taking forever, this night was already perfect, she didn't need anything else but him, but she knew when he came up with surprises they meant something. She heard him call her and she smiled as she slowly walked towards the bed room and opened the door looking at him as she was still scared, as she wasn't sure what was going on although everything around the room made her smile and want to cry as she covered her mouth in shock, "It looks amazing" She smiled at him.
Lucas nervously fiddled with the tie he was wearing, wanting to take it off but wanting to keep it on. He smiled once his girlfriend came inside the decorated bedroom, he licked his lips, taking in how beautiful she looked ever in shock of what he'd done for her. Lucas stood up, and walked over to Barbra, giving her the softest of kisses, before pulling back and holding her hands in his. He looked at her with the most heartfelt expression, "Barbra, ever since I seen you in my class my senior year, where Mikayla was my lab partner, you made me smile, and you were the cutest thing. I could see you staring at me and I knew I needed to have you, I wanted to have you even before we spoke our first words, and well it just progressed from there. We've been through so much together, and the moment the unthinkable happened, it killed me to know I hurt you," he wiped his eyes, he hated bringing up that time, and the pain he felt. "I didn't know what I could do without you since at that point we were together for two years." He paused for a minute taking a short breath.
Barbra: -Barbra stood there she was still as scared as ever, she had no clue what he was about to do, she smiled as she looked at him, she wanted to know what this surprise was and hearing the words come out of his mouth, tears instantly fell down her face, even for the short amount of time they have been back together it kind of felt like nothing ever happened in the first place. She kept listening and heard what he had to say and she bit her lip, she really didn't want to remember what he did but she had to let him finish so she stood there with tears streaming down he face waiting for him to finish what he had planned.
Lucas bit his lip, closing his eyes for a second. He opened his eyes a few seconds later, continuing on with his speech, "But after the break up a lot happened, I made you hurt and sad and I hadn't felt so empty. I never thought I'd ever be into another girl, but when I was with Brooke, I tried so hard to get myself to believe I didn't love you anymore, but finding out how much that hurt, knowing how much I loved you I knew I didn't want anyone to stand in the way of my happiness with you," he stroked her hands with his thumbs, looking up at her, "And ever since we got back together everything fell right back in place like we were never apart in the first place. Us getting back together was the day I believed all wasn't lost, it was the day I've seen hope in something again." He spoke, pouring his heart out, giving her a soft kiss on the lips, moaning gently before regrettably pulling away from her mouth. "The future is so clear for me now, for both of us, and we talked about what we wanted in the future, to be together for as long as we both shall live." He pulled back, kissing both of her cheeks, before digging a box out of his coat pocket, and he could feel tears in his eyes, as he slowly went down to one knee. "Barbra St. James, will you marry me?"
Barbra: -Barbra smiled at him as she bit her lip, hearing him say these words, he knew something was going on, she was so scared right now and these tears wouldn't stop falling as she looked at him, feeling his thumbs stroke her hand she felt butterflies in her stomach as she looked at him. Smiling at him, she knew what he was saying was true most people would say you two only got together stop thinking about a future but after two years it doesn't really matter. As she kissed him back she felt him pull back and she was shocked, she had no clue until he starting getting one knee and she stood there in shock covering hr moth again feeling the tears on hands she smiled. She nodded looking at him and the box, "Yes, Yes I'll marry you" She smiled looking at you letting the tears fall down her face.
Lucas smiled, he knew what he had done came a surprise to her, he slid the ring onto her finger when she gave her response. Lucas moved to stand up, his hands being placed in her hands, their fingers twining together. "I love you so much Barbra, and I want to spend my life with you. I always planned to propose to you once you graduated high school, but I felt like this was the right possible moment, and I love you so much," he replied softly, before moving in to kiss her, with all the love and passion he held for her not intensified because that wasn't what he felt like the moment was. He pulled back minutes later to catch his breath, playing with her finger, "This looks beautiful on you. I went to go get one of those infinity matching bracelets but I came across this ring and I knew I wanted you to have it."
Barbra: -Barbra was still crying, she wanted it to stop but for some reason it wouldn't, as she felt the ring being slid onto her finger, she smiled looking at it, it was amazing and she loved it and she knew this night was going to be perfect. "I love you, I really didn't expect this, so during that time when I was worried you hated me during the week, you were really doing this?" She looked at him as she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him looking at him. Feeling his hand on hers she smiled softly, "It looks amazing, it's the perfect ring. Oh well I am happy you did because this is perfect just like you" She held on to his hand-
Lucas nodded at her question, "Yeah, I'm sorry for making it seem like I was still upset or anything, I didn't want you to catch on to what I was doing and you got to admit, I really did catch your off guard and well now you had a surprise you didn't mind at all," he chuckled warmly, wrapping his arms around her waist. He couldn't help but keep looking in her eyes, "You're so sweet and you'll be a good wife to me, and I hope I'm a great husband to you and everything."
Barbra: -Barbra smiled and shock her head- "No it's fine, I was just worried that's all but it definitely was a perfect surprise like the best surprise ever" She smiled as she kept her arms around his neck and holding onto him tightly, she knew this was going to last and smiled. "I hope I'll be a good wife and I am sure you will be a good husband, I mean i know you will" She smiled looking at him as she kissed his lips softly.
Lucas smirked, he was proud of himself, this was a new memory for them, one he hoped they'd always remember for a very long time. "I'm glad and never intentionally wanted you to worry, I wanted this to be perfect, I knew it was the right time to prove to you that I want to be bound to you for the rest of our lives." He kissed her back, his heart racing and his mind at ease, everything was going good for them and now they were engaged, he was engaged to the love of his life, they both were.
Barbra: -Barbra smiled looking at him, she had ifnally stopped the crying but it still felt like a dream to her, "I am so happy right now, like how did you manage to pull this off with out me knowing? It was and is perfect." She smiled at his comment and ooked at him as she kissed him again pulling his tie to undo, this was a perfect night and she wouln't wait to see what the rest of the future held. She knew she'd have to deal with her parents drama but right now she wanted to live for he moment and be happy with Lucas in their apartment.
Tagging→ Aiden Lynn & Lucas Robinson
When→ December 28th, late evening.
Where→ Where ever Lucas's shift takes him
Why→ Aiden keeps his promise and pays Lucas a visit while he's working.
Aiden was finally getting accustomed to life in San Francisco. The only thing he was missing is a social life. Work was going well, and everyone he had met seemed alright. There had yet to be anyone that really caught his attention, until he met Lucas. The newly employed police officer had a definitive personality, and Aiden couldn't help but find him wildly entertaining. He wanted to know more about him, and had made a promise to visit him on his shift while he was working today.
Aiden bought the typical donuts and coffee from the convenience store, and then made his way over to the station. He went ahead and parked in the visitor zone, and made his way towards the squad cars. Looking around, he noticed his friend, in uniform, walking out of the police department's entrance. With a quick wave and a grin, Aiden tried to grab the attention of his new friend. "Well hello there, officer," he called out.
Was this idea crazy? Yeah it was. But then again, crazy has always been synonymous with his name. At first it was just a playful thought. Then when his peers had arched their brows at him and question his credibility and ability to pull such a stunt, a streak of rebelliousness had sparked the desire in him. Stealing trinkets and money from a house is nothing -- that's child's play to Max. Breaking into a psychiatric hospital and steal medicine? Well, that was easier than he thought. Even getting inside a museum just for the heck of it was too easy. But robbing a bank? A famous bank like this? Max had never tried that and he longed to do it. It'd take weeks of planning, weeks of hacking into its security system and observing the patterns and the locks at the main vault itself.
And when the fateful day came, everything was going to plan. He had a grace period of 30 minutes -- that was when the security guys would patrol to the other side of the bank, leaving this particular locale unmonitored save for a few cameras. Max grinned by the time he reached the vault, proud of himself for getting this far. Now onto the... His mind was whirring as he took a look at the lock. The fuck?! They must have changed the ones at the vault without him knowing. Behind his ski mask, Max was frowning, shrugging off his backpack and opening it. He had built this particular calibrator especially for this heist. Weeks of pouring into the mechanics of the locks being used at the vault has gone into this device. However something told him, it was going to be a failure. Nonetheless, he was still stubborn -- determined to see if his creation would work. If it does, he'd celebrate later. If he doesn't... well, lets just save that for later shall we?
He eyed the security pad again, the tiny black box with its small irritating beep and green digits. He took note of its build, the shape of it and ran through his own memory to see if he had seen anything similar. The small logo at the corner of the box jogged his memory and Max gulped. If this one was anything like what he remembered, his calibrator won't work. Placing it beside the box, Max swiped his gloved finger over the small compartment, prompting it to click open. He keyed in the calculations he had memorised just the day before and that should work...
Except it didn't.
There was no distinctive click. Nor was there... anything at all. His brows knitted, as he kept swiping at the pad of the calibrator. A small noise of frustration escaped him as he banged on the device, infuriated with himself. This was shameful -- now he has to find the security camera footage and wiped off the humiliating scene of him not getting into the bloody vault.
Kurt still felt a little odd about being in Paris. After Lucas had stopped replying to his texts, he knew something was seriously wrong, but even still, it felt a little invasive to be making sure in person. But he knew in his gut he was doing the right thing, and that if the tables were turned, Lucas would have done the same. Kurt was thankful to have David come with him - his twin kept him level-headed and was a great support when things got rough, and Kurt always felt more comfortable when David was around. As the cab pulled into the long driveway on the Smythe property, the anxiousness that had been twisting into the pit of Kurt's stomach eased, but only a little. He just hoped Lucas was alright.
Violett looked around the hall before slipping into the gym teachers office. He had made it a point to let her know how much he disliked her and she was done with it. She had tried skipping the class together but he ended up teaching a few power related classes as well, leaving her no choice but to stick it. So she decided to take matters into her own hands and pull the biggest prank she had thought up so far. She left the door cracked open then creeped back to the file drawers. She was about to open one of the drawers but it got stuck on something, when she went to pull it out it shook then started falling towards her. She put out her hands to catch it but it was too heavy for her to hold up and it was starting to weigh down on her "Shit." She hissed. She heard footsteps coming her way and grew scared. "Please don't let them come in here. Please don't let me get caught." She chanted silently
Jess had been up since 4 in the morning. She hadn't even been able to go to sleep until 2 in the morning last night. So she was running on 2 hours of sleep. Jess wasn't so sure why she wasn't able to sleep. She was told by her rehab lady that it was because of the withdrawal, but Jess wasn't so sure. But she felt awake and that was all that mattered. She had gone for a run and cleaned the house and now she was getting dressed to go to the city with Lucas. Jess threw on a pair of her extremely holey jeans and a tank top. She grabbed her Keyes and walked out of the door. She needed to get out of the house and do something. She pulled up to the Smythe's house and beeped the horn and waited.
Studying seemed to be getting harder and harder as Lydia Clarington concentrated on the writing that was scribbled on white pages, the tiny lettering getting more and more jumbled as time went on. The library of Allegory was quiet- everyone abandoning their spots to go eat lunch in the cafeteria that was pretty far away. The strawberry blonde had decided to stay in and see if she could prepare herself for the quiz that was happening in less than two hours. But it seemed as though she couldn’t concentrate. She knew all of this so why was she here?
‘Because the human brain is fickle,’ she reminded herself, thinking back to a time when she had assumed that she had known something and had failed that quiz and a number of them after. Raking a hand through her hair, the girl gently closed the book, wondering what she could do to get her motivation to study back. It wasn’t as though she had something better to do besides practice her skills or to listen to music or- if she wanted to kill her vision- use the internet. Being a teenager was just so boring. You couldn’t do much and everything was limited by your parents- even here, she was limited.
Maybe… somebody could study with her? Someone who was just as intelligent as she was and could keep her on track when her mind went racing to other places? That… that could work, actually. She only needed someone who wouldn’t be intimidated by her. She didn’t have many friends and the ones that she did have, she kept away from her. Most of the student body thought of her to be a bit of a bitch but Lydia knew that that was far from the truth. She was just sarcastic and just because she preferred a less typical type of humor did not give them the right to label them with their silly words. Standing up, she sighed and grabbed her stuff, mindful of the way that her stomach was growling at her.
Since she was so good at multi-tasking, Lydia was about to do two things at once. She was going to get food and she was going to find herself a study partner that didn’t make her want to rip her hair out in frustration. The walk to the cafeteria and soon, the senior was sulking in between the double doors, tossing her hair over her shoulders as she glared away any eyes that landed on her person. Collecting a tray and going through the mechanics, she looked around for someone that could- Oh, he was reading a book. She closed her eyes as she tried to remember his name and it came to her almost instantly- he sat behind her in her history class and his name was Lucas. Eyeing the brunette boy with a slight predatory smile on her face, she knew that she could possibly manipulate him into doing it but she didn’t want to use her skills if she didn’t have to.
Walking over to his table, she plopped down onto the other side, crossing her legs, and taking a bite out of the apple that she picked up with petite fingers. “Hello,” she greeted, once her throat was cleared of any obstructions. “I’m Lydia and I need a study partner. Would you mind helping me out?” Forward, she knew, but she was uncomfortable conversing with people and she had learned that short and quick was the best way to get whatever she wanted. She fidgeted slightly, the motion hidden by the table and took another bite from her apple. “I would understand if you don’t want to,” she said carefully, leaning forward. “I know that I have a bit of a reputation around here.” Lydia laughed lightly as she locked eyes with him.
