The First Betrayal-Back into the past sequence
A long time ago in my younger years, I grew close to a paladin named Titus. We both worked hard to get into the ranks of the Quel’thalas army. There we were put in a strong hold group under the commanding leader, Theos. Time past and Theos grew close to each one of us, recognizing our strengths and hardships. He balanced out each one of us when we were needed in the front against enemies of other armies that tried to take us down. One day while I, Titus and Theos were camping, I lounged by a log and drank to my heart’s content. We were taking care of a troll infestation that was terrorizing small areas of Southern Quel’thalas.
There was bad memories that would be soon to come but it wasn’t all that bad in the long run. Theos looked to me as I sat enjoying the air around me while he and Titus had been strategizing of some bullshit plan I didn’t care to listen for. I mainly just made sure no one died at the time was my job I stuck by. However things got a little interesting in the convo. “Where you from Fireheart?” He had asked me. My ears quirked up as I looked over to him. “Hmmm? Where am I from?” I repeated the question. He smirked. “Do you speak Thalassian or are you common?” He would joke.
I chuckled softly, at the time I had a wife who was expecting my child soon enough. Giving a boyish grin I laughed,”Well sir, I do speak Common and Thalassian.” I said a few words in common and he stopped grinning. He leaned back and didn’t seemed pleased about it. It was soon turned to another subject by Titus and they went back to talking. i had been thinking at the time of what to name our child. I heard the name Nouri before. It meant light. I did once had hopes for him becoming the light and hope to our people. To show them there is still a reason to smile as for whom this child would become for the next generation.
Soon there would be laughs between us heard as we laughed about Taurens and Theos was half drunk on his ass. “What is up with taurens anyway? You have a piece of beef on your plate ad they look at you as if you are a cannibal.” I shook my head as I saw a haze and bubbles in my face. I heard Titus speak in tauren that sounded more like a whale. I would speak up and laugh. “I aaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmmmm....” I didn’t finish my sentence because I would pass out from my drunkenness.
A few days later a chief in command came to be part of the huge army. This started an uproar with some elvens and it lead more to discrimination. I found Titus had moved on from our group and I realized then....a betrayal was in our midst. Our Captain Theos was discrimitorial against I and others who were raised differently. He would believe we were not taught correctly as we once were. It lead to arguments and soon after more and more of our people that were grouped with him left.
When I saw even Titus leave...he was saddened and it would be a while until i saw him again. At this point I had heard news of my child being born. A boy. Racing to go see my child into Silvermoon. I found my wife had checked out and had left me alone with our baby. It was my first betrayal. As I looked into my child’s face who was sound asleep at the time. Would I be the father he needed?
