The Patronus lesson
Draco never succeeded to strike a Patronus, His wand simply seemed to ignore him whenever he said “Expecto Patronum,” He had given it up long ago, when one day twelve year old Scorpius came back from a visit to his School friend Albus. “Daddy, look what Harry taught me!” Draco had no idea since when his son was allowed to call Potter by his first Name. He made a Memo to himself to offer Albus first Name Terms next time he would come over. “Daddy, are you listening? Look, what Harry taught me!” Scorpius made a dramatic pause, looked his father straight in the eyes and shouted “Expecto Patronum!” The Patronus was not completely corporeal, but Draco had seen enough people learn to strike Patronuses to tell, that with a little more practise it would soon be. “Daddy, what’s your Patronus?” “I never succeeded to strike one.” Draco admitted with a sad voice. Scorpius hugged him, and ran out of Draco’s study.
Draco continued with his work, until five minutes later he heard a sound from the stairs. What was that? That were two pairs of feet ascending the stairs. Scorpius peeked into the Study: “Daddy, you have a guest. And you will take lessons from now on.” Scorpius ushered Potter into the Study. “Scorpius told me you need Patronus lessons?” Draco was so perplexed, he almost would have forgotten to greet Potter. “Umm, good evening, Potter, I, erm, I don’t think I will ever be able to strike a Patronus. Fifteen teachers have tried and given up on me. Perhaps I don’t deserve a Patronus.” Scorpius came back with tea and biscuits, but was quick to get out again: “Daddy, Harry, I’ll go to sleep. Good night.”
“Back to our conversation.” Potter’s baritone voice rang out: “I think you do deserve a Patronus, and maybe your teachers’ method was simply not what you needed.” “You think I deserve a Patronus, Potter? After all the things I did at School?” “You have changed for better. And I have forgiven you, Draco. But I might get annoyed if you don’t start calling me by my first name. I remember a Boy who would have liked to be my friend.” He extended his hand towards Draco. Blissfully, Draco took his hand and was pulled into a hug. It felt perfect. As they let go of each other, Harry prompted: “Try your Patronus!” “Expecto Patronum!” A Patronus sprang up from his wand and assumed the form of a Dragon. “Wow, amazing!” Harry exclaimed. The Dragon had an outline on its chest, like a stag Tattoo...
