Hey there, I'm thinking of getting one of your virus shawls! How big are they, and what colors do you have available right now?
Heyyyy! They can be as big as you want, honestly – I’ve seen more sedate shawls that go down to mid back / butt area, and i’ve seen shawls that go to your knees. Obviously, the larger the shawl the more yarn it’ll take.Right now I have a pretty hodgepodge collection of yarn of varying thickness / quality. I’ll list them below and if any of these catches your fancy I can send you pics. These are all either acrylic (most), and acrylic / cotton blend, or cotton. The best yarn I currently have is a 4 ply acrylic ombre that goes from a rich royal blue > white. If you want a really big shawl, this is your best bet. I have a similar thickness yarn in a greyish cream colour, though I have less of it so the shawl would be smaller. The rest of my yarn unfortunately is worsted (which is ~8-10 ply, it’s probably the most common you see in various scarves and stuff) or light worsted (slightly thinner), but I can use a larger hook so that it won’t be too bulky. For this I have a tonne of colours so bear with me:- Bright stop sign red- a sparkly muted purple / wine colour- a colour-changing purple / green / white (not quite ombre, the yarn itself changes colour every x length)- a blue & light blue of the same as above- lavender- maroon- navy blue- green-blue, this one is pretty bright- a muted forest green^ these are your best bets if you want a shawl on the larger side, since I have multiple skeins per colour.I also then have a lot of single-ball yarns also worsted / light worsted, which I could use in a sort of block pattern, switching the yarn colours every so many rows. Of these I have:- brown- goldenrod- really bright fuckin orange i have no idea where i got this- mint green- dusty rose pink- white- a desaturated navy blue- light brown- pink- baby yellow- tealI also have 1 ball of super chunky champagne / gold glitter but I have no idea how far this would extend (probably not very), it’s a low yardage.
