WEEK 1
During my first week in the class Fundamentals of Peace Education, I learned a lot from it. Being with my new classmates and having them had a great impact on me. I used to be a silent person before because of the two years of lockdown due to covid19 I’m always inside the house every day. No friends, and no outside activities happening in my life at that time. So I’m grateful that classes back again face to face.
Being with this class studying Fundamentals of Peace Education brings me an opportunity to express myself even in just a little way. This course thought me how important having peace in life is. Since I’m used to being myself always, I thought that I already have peace because there is no one that I may be get distracted by. But I was wrong, there is something missing from my own perspective of peace that I have and it is the peers that I need in my surroundings. So this course taught me how important having and being with people around to achieve peace in one’s self.
I’ve learned that this course of Fundamentals of Peace Education is important for people of all ages, especially for a student like me. As we are growing, we form our own unique worldview and we learn how to interact with people around us. Learning about peace education is a wonderful opportunity for us to build a peaceful perspective of the world around us. If we are able to equip the skills that we need to be human beings who build healthy relationships and solve problems in ways that value the inherent dignity of others, our world will benefit us now and in the future.
