People Change
She lies on her bed, years worth of dream journals sprawled around her in no particular order. When had she stopped dreaming? When had her ambitions turned to mere inklings of someone she used to be? And there she lies, for a while, simply staring at the ceiling. She whispers, “People change,” over and over again, into the dark. Whether it was consolation or justification for herself, she did not know.
Author’s note: Yes, I realize this one is quite short, but I did think of it on the fly, so I hope you liked it.
